DigiChilli January Status and feedback

Guys does anybody else have problems with there browsing??? i can ping the websites but can access them???? this is *&*(^(* up

Its been a while since I have had some decent speeds, for the last six days or so I have no had anything more than 5KB/s. However today has been pretyy good, been averaging about 36KB/s or so for torrents :P event had a burst for a while which was between 50 and 90, this speed seemed to come from 2 other DC users. I even have an int torrent going which has been going at at steady 10KB/s, prolly the best int torrent I have had with DC. If this continues I will most prolly renew next month. I don't want to speak too soon though, but hopefully this continues! :)

Package: Spicy
Line: 4meg

[EDIT]:
BTW browsing has also been good for me and even been able to stream YouTube decently.

Possible Telkom knock-on? I fear Dave has left us. To whom shall we turn? Woe is us!

Well the other day when i phoned to find out what was going on they said he was still there and was in a meeting ....so wonder if he jumped ship or is just very busy???

Things have been good. Contacted support and gave a quick congrats then i asked a support question... Support then proceeded to ask me to email [email protected] :wtf: (btw this was a simple question like: "Hi pls look this up on ur system for me i just want to double check that i have the right details")

Okaaaaay so they're probably very busy but still. Anyways i dont care as long as it works and it is working right now so it's all good i wont use the pimp hand ;)

This virtual pipe story has really not been a very advantageous one, I for one have seen bursting eliminated while everything else that was slow before, is still slow....

got this answer from support which explains why people are having an inconsistent experience:
The pipe is sorted out but there are customers having issues with they IP ranges that needs to be sorted manualy

Also got 2 replies from support in one day, the other days I tried I got none, so they are improving.

Let's see here, I'm going to do a little maths (the approx/guesstimate kind) for anyone who is still looking at Digichilli for uncapped;

My Current speeds get me roughly a 100mb's an hour so I'll take it from there:

100mb x 24 hours = 2.4GB's

2.4GB's x 10 days = 24GB's

24GB's x 3 (30 day period) = 72GB's a month

72GB's a lot and I'm not sure how it equates in Rands per gig (maybe like R4 something a gig )

Now lets not compare with any other uncapped or capped/prepaid accounts here for a second. 72 GB's is a *VERY* rough amount due to the fact DC is not running a 100% yet, but anyone who says R300 for 60+ GB's in South Africa is an idiot (no offence intended here people).

No I didn't forget the people who aren't getting close to the same speeds me or others are getting yet. So it is unfair for me to say DC is great now but as things get better I believe DC will be a force reckoned with. Sadly right now DC is not great so if you want a high cap account then DC is for you - oh and you have to be somewhat patient too :)

Guys I think mine has been fixed and i get full line speed on whatever i use. So i'm hoping everyone else will also get that soon. 384kb/s Spicy

I hope they mean THEY have to sort out the IP ranges manually :)

Suddenly getting full speed on whatever I want to do, this is just great, torrents going at 36kB/s. Browsing lightining quick. 10 minutes ago it was horrible, didn't even reboot router.
