DigiChilli January Status and feedback

I haven't really tried playing online with Digichilli, I'm averaging in the high 40KB/s but it does tend to drop occasionally down to 10-20KB/s for a second or two. So I'm not sure what type of an effect it would have on the game.
In my opinion, my Telkom account has a more stable connection for gaming (not sure how true it is though) and I still get lag. I think this is more to do with my 384 line and playing against international players.

But I think I may just try some Red Dead Redemption online with digichilli and see how it goes.
My Telkom account seems to cap my speeds at around 38KB/s and Digichilli seems to average around 48KB/s.

Did you try playing online with DC?

Was going to try online now but BFBC2 has a new update which is 288mb, I have 5 updates for Uncharted 2 and can't get into any lobbies with other people in Red Dead Redemption, the free roam by myself played fine but have to wait for my friend to try out free roam together.
I'm going to see if I can go to my friends house on the weekend and update my games on his 4mbps line.

Strange thing happened when I initially tried to update BFBC2 with my Digichilli account, my PS3 just reboots every time I try to update. When I switched to my Telkom account the update started with no problems.

It's taking me 30 minutes to download the 16mb update for Modern Warfare 2 on my PS3, will switch over to Digichilli afterwards and test out the online.

International just died only local bandwidth is working. Let's hope it's a short down time :o

SEACOM Failure
There has been a general failure on the SEACOM circuit. We have switch all international routing to our backup circuit and as a result there will be increased latency connecting to international sites.

Update: We have been advised by Tata that there seems to be a fibre cut between Marseille and London on initial investigations.
Update: We have been in contact with our Service Manager at Tata, We have been informed that this link should be restored within the next hour.
The link was broken due to a provider in France carrying out a cable upgrade without notifying any of their clients.
Cybersmart NOC

Just saw this in one of the other threads.

Looks like DC are shaping P2P at the moment. Anyone noticing/having this? Downloading from megaupload and only seem to manage around 30kB/s maybe this is the after effects of Seacom downtime? As I write this megaupload is getting worse :o HTTP seems fine...

Don't know if its shaping. Was bit inconsistent, dropped to 10 and even 0. But last couple of minutes its been above 35.

Still pretty slow downloading through jDownloader =/ It might not be shaping but I do wonder what it is and the only conclusion I come to is Seacom. It's nothing major but still odd :erm:

At least HTTP is running perfectly and that's fine by me, I know P2P will be back to normal soon'ish always is :D

Okay something really has gone wrong. ALL P2P is DEAD and i can't even get into Gmail. Is everyone else having these problems?

I wish DC had a proper network update page at time like these :(

Okay wtf now it's working :wtf: I wonder what the hell is going on :p
