DigiChilli January Status and feedback

DC will fix it. They don't hate you.

They want to make their service work well.

They fixed the Secondlife issues. They will fix the issues you have.

They are removing shapers and letting clients do their own shaping/priorities for what they download.

By end Jan, I feel they will have a service that kicks *ss. It kicks *ss for most already.

well they are kicking *ss my side and have been for a while now......

I love the idea of us doing our own shaping......if that is what they have done with my account then it works great......:D:D:D

;)
Can you imagine DC trying to do this, I think their systems would crash, lol. Then you would get low latency 20% of the time and the rest you're ping would prolly be like 6000.

Admittly not the smartest idea ever but hey I was half asleep and thought it might be possible lol

Agreed but let's wait and see if 32kB/s is going to be the final speed or maybe the starting point of something epic :D

Speeds have stablised on my side and luckily Im still getting 40kB/s max on multithreaded downloads. So far so good in a sense :)

Video streaming via Youtube = quite stable at 260kbps
FTP still 1KB/s
did not test skype
IM via miranda, MSN dont wanna log in, Gtalk logs in but konks out in 30secs or so
HTTP downloads and surfing = Very good
torrents, Running between 10kB/s and 15 kB/s
o ja .. FB apps dont wanna log in

dont know how much i can blame DC for and what to pin on Telkom

Stll the same here

Speeds still the same this side expect no more random disconnects, but let's see what happens in 6 hour ;)

Getting average 26KB/s downloads, and bursts uptoo 45KB/s
On a 4mb line using spicy account.

Rapidshare seems dead.
Steam takes ages to log on, but goes in eventually.
Browsing seems fair.

Nope nothing for me yet...since Friday...done 50 MB in 3 days...
somehow torrent still upload but no downloading :( News servers are dead

Dave please guys...my username is drukkie@digichilli i've also phoned in ...

I've been really happy with the speeds i've been getting the last few days. Browsing still isn't perfect, but its getting close.

Clearly the hard work is starting to pay off.

So far today it's been "OK" in terms of speed and browsing but I really wish I had a 4meg line now lol finally found a direct link to mass effect 2 but the 1st disc is 7GB's  oh well :p

6 hour disconnects continue :erm:

DIGI NO CONECT again port 6667 is not conecting shot there techincal guys

Supposedly the suport line (087 94 10 HOT(468)) is open from 6am to 10pm Monday to Sunday.

So why then do I get through (listen to the welcome message) and then the line rings until I get a voicemail? Called at 2:40 pm Sunday 24 Jan 2010.

I have had the same experience - it seems like they open whenever they feel like it and close whenever they feel like it ... during the week you can mostly get a hold of someone from about 08:30 in the morning until around 7:30 in the evening but outside of those hours you have to listen to the simpleton saying "Sowwy" until you feel like screaming, or you end up at voice mail.

My DC sense is tingling something fierce  My downloads are corrupting or are disconnect :( Speeds are up and down :( What happened

My speed has gone to the dogs as well. My modem for some reason reset and now my downloads are just trickling. Yesterday and for the most of today the speeds from DC was okay :)

With all the many problems DC is having I checked out the webafrica news server (since axxes local moved to IS whose ns sucks). in short it rocks! probably the best in the country. Now if DC can just sort out their issues I can have very nice uncapped international but at limited speeds and fast local downloads for most things.

Digichilli if you're listening I would gladly give you the money instead if you implemented a good news server.
