I can also connect.

Using wi-fi from a detached flat into the main house which is about 10m away.

Logs in fine, ever since i logged onto the laptop with DC, hmmm.. *goes to check*

downloaded 35.6mb in 3h9min

i must say though, i think Mr Cambodian Dave isn't updating the forum because he is slaving over the issues. I hope.

Very true. I really like DC since they brought in "cheap uncapped" internet, but I will still go with whoever is cheaper and better. They'll just have to be up to the task of taking WA down if they're going to release some decent pacakges.

Yeah their network will work well. But their pricing is still up in the air.

If they actually do take the leap pricing wise, then they're saints. Maximizing profits is the more natural thing to do. Look at cybersmart, they offer an uncapped product but it's still a secret.

I've watched 2 youtube videos now, and they've streamed without a buffer, pretty FREAKIN' AWESOME :@........

Just waiting for 1 more download to complete and then i will switch to DigiChilli and disconnect my Afrihost account. Then see what the line speed is on torrents with DigiChilli.

Here's hoping to get anything above 10kb for a constant 4 hours?
 
Yep, i'm seeing the improvement with youtube as well, but not so great that it doesn't need to buffer. Speeds are going between 15-40kb.

Wish I could connect to steam, missing out on the TF2 update :(

Although the speed seems to always hover around 10-12K, I find that the DC account is way more stable(with all it's current problems) than any account I've ever used.

I said it before...It just flows.

With DC, SA citizens can finally make money in MMORPG's. Secondlife can make SA citizens tons in dollars.

Back, in 2007, I had tried to get SL here in SA, but they would not let others maintain their servers.

They told me I should try and arrange a deal like the Aussie telecoms co. and get a special bandwidth price for SL users.

Still waiting for an email from SAIX...

Thanks DC! An industry in 3D content will be born in SA, from uncapped. :D
 
ok I don't know what chilli is doing but I almost got shoutcast working now. Guys get this right and I will be happy.
 
Just checked in and Int torrents are coming down at 5-12 Kb/s... and up to 20Kb/s for a short period...For the first time in 9 days. WawaWiiiwaaa! :)
On a test account, 384 line. Not superfast, but I want to give DC money for a working
service, so I hope it's the start of a ghappi-times.
Ohh, got worse while writing this... I'll hang in there.
 
Don't think it likes my presence, down to 2kb/s, back to my movie and my sleeping girlfriend on the sofa then...
 
In SL my SL to pc speed is between 10-12K.

I'm seeing 20-30K on the per second turnover, from clicking the LAN icon, which gives me the the total from my pc to to DC.

Able to use SL and the web at the same time, which is a first.

I think it's that peak that is allowed to browsers. If that's how they are tuning it.

It allows for a massive flow at the start of an app. Then tapers off to a steady flow.

Ok I'm gonna post here and in the other DC thread.
I absolutely had my best day with DC today.

I basically downloaded about 1.2GB, maybe a bit less.
It is not the about of data I moved today. I only downloaded what I needed as the need arised during the day and evening.

I downloaded an Ubuntu iso from saix - 60KB avg - no download manager
Downloaded Gimp from international - 250KB avg - with Flashget download manager
Acrobat 9 Pro updated itself - avg 50KB
I have been downloading open office without download manager from international for the last week or so stopping every time the download speed has stabilised. This was absolutely only to test the speed every day.
This was normally at 10KB. I tried this file an hour ago and completed a big download at about 55KB avg.

Browsing was good the whole day. Struggled at times with Facebook, but I think that is FB issues, as a lot of people are complaining.

I hope everybody experienced this today. If this level of performance can be the standard, I will be very happy and promote this ISP for sure.

This was done on a 4Mb line

If this performance can be linked to work being done, fine tuning or whatever, please let us know Digichilli. Thank you for your effort if that is the case.

I really hope this is not just me being lucky for a change or that it just was a flash in the pan.
