But I think the issue is more with people with 4meg lines buying a R300 package (which is actually for a 384 line), and then going ballistic with it. Not the 4 meggers fault, as they did not know they were in the wrong. I think the issue is, that if you want to run a 4 mb line at full speed 24/7, then you have to pay the R3000, (as in my above reference: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showpost.php?p=3456391&postcount=774 , you are suppose to be limited to the package you subscribe to, Spicy and mild is suppose to limit you to a max 384, which is currently not happening because of a telkom issue)
 
Mixed bag of nuts once again it seems. Few people complaining that after 11pm last night things got worse but for me they got a bit........unworse. Was stuck at 1-5kB HTTP speeds yesterday and am now at 15-30kB speeds which is a lot better even if it isn't as high as I was getting before all the shaping willydilly came into being.
 
IT SO **** TODAY.PPPOE SESSION UP.BUT LOCAL IS ONLY THING THAT IS WORKING.im back to afrihost for good now.wont bother with them again.dont want to get my heartrate up trying to speak to the baboons on the "help desk" to try and get my money back.**** they ****.

Can prob give everyone a better experience with my pfsense box.and my hsdpa :)
 
brad that is a bit of a unfair comparison. DC has been up and running for a couple of months and SAOL has been up and running for oh I dont know +- 6 years. SAOL have the experience, man power and hardware to be 100% all the time. DC are still learning...

So when a new store opens and you don't get any service you say well its a new store.

What is this 15gig cap thing on saol's "uncapped"? btw its not a totally unfair comparison, if you buy a bmw and a ford ka for about the same price you still expect both to take u to the coner shop to go by milk simply because theyre both cars and thats what they do. The ford ka isn't still learning to become a car. lol lame i know

Out of fairness I removed that post, but also remember SAOL only just launched uncapped.
 
I have an idea have patience and stop being dicksons about it in the end none of us could do a beter job if we tried we would all have to close up and repay everyone.

There is 2 different products for the same price. One is 15gig capped (I think it is highspeed), the other is simply uncapped (unlimited).

If you had the experience, man power and hardware to teach them, go for it.

Otherwise sign with SAOL

Do you really think being negative about stuff you cant get (like a kid in a store) will get you a pat on the back and a sweet?

Plenty of ppl are in the same boat not just you, but most of us are patient and help Dave with constructive feed back, not this one line negativity.

This is a public forum, not Digichilli's. Therefore he can say what he wants. If that is how the man feel, let him say so. His view is as important as the rest...He is also giving feedback, I get a feeling more people will start feeling his way soon.

Actually, this specific thread was created by DC, for their Network Status in December, and to get feedback from the users. A comment like "Ah you all suck, death to you all bah humbug", does not contribute to the OP.

He is of course free to create his own thread and voice his opinion about DC, as this is a public forum.

Its as about effective as me starting a thread on the news servers and someone responds :"Ah bah humbug I hate news servers". Does not really add now does it?

Like other posters pointed out, we are all struggling here, not just those that rant or my personal favourites...the "I told you so" crowd.
 
8b/s. are we banned/capped again?

started about 11:15 last night, with a 40k/s spike from 01:00 till 01:45.

Nothing from there..

And yes, I have a 4 meg line. using chilli only for astraweb. all other traffic is on mic of IS/SAiX
 
Dont think you banned. I got very slow speeds, and packet loss. Some sites dont load, stream dont work, msn dont work.

Rapidshare paid account coms in at 10kbs - 15kbs.

Hope it comes right, friend I was sharing with aint keen anymore when its like this. Dave, any news/progress?
