I'm a little amazed at how people read only the negative, comprehend that but remain as ignorant as a potato farmer attempting to solder a nasa shuttle when it comes to the reasoning behind it.

You CANNNNNNNNOOOOOOOT do more than 5gigs a day legitimately on these accounts. CANNOT. 512kb constantly would be required and since the accounts burst from 256-512kB your chances of achieving that while actually limited to 256-512 are almost 0%.

The users who did this were achieving 4mb speeds on a 256-512kb package. The problem also is NOT with the gig count as Digichilli don't purchase "data" they purchase "bandwidth" so they're actually selling you that speed and NOT the amount you can do with it.....see why people going at a higher rate than they paid for is a problem in this scenario?

But anyway....Dave didn't say he'd be banning these people permanently. It was a temporary measure until some proper speed control could come in play thus preventing them from ruining everyone else's experience.

You can ban me for an hour or so while I go run. :p

Dave isn't there someway you guys and Afrihost could compare settings or whatever it is. Because I'm downloading off of steam at 42KB/s with my Afrihost account.

Eish, i'm beginning to feel its starting to take to long.

How are we gonna ever get a stable connection if the upstream providers keep having problems. I've seen the secret cybersmart deal, and i gotta say, it's extremely impressive. If things don't improve fairly soon i'm gonna be forced to go with cybersmart. I really want to support digichilli though.

I agree too...
I really want to support DC but I'm not able to use the Internet properly and I'm paying for it. I'm not asking for a refund or anything, just a working connection.

As nice a guy as gian is, sharing trade secrets probably exceeds it.

I am online and kicking ass with my dlink router in place. Netgear dg834 was the cause of my issues (no browsing but good tracert etc) so consider swapping out if you have similar issues.
Now I want to see if I can pinpoint the reason.

Oh and the "you suck lol" type posts are the reason why big places like SomethingAwful have a rule in place and probate people who thread****.

So when is the next guesstimate that we may get our minimum speeds? Thought it was meant to be after the network reboot on Friday :p

+1. As I said earlier, the only reason why I got this account is to download, I can NOT wait for 2years for something to download.

Torrents are still dead in the water for me and I have 29% packet loss to international sites.

i've given myself till end of dec to see if DC delivers..otherwise i have to go somewhere else...especially with university classes starting in jan, i will need a working connection.

i''m pulling for DC to work as they are value for money.

Their is a known issue with our upstream provider in London with high packet loss affecting international.

Issues between SAIX / MTNNS / IS are complicating things.

The shaper should be making browsing better across all packages.

Thanks for the update.

I guess that would explain why speedtest never completes when testing London. Any ETA on when it will be fixed?

Anyway, steam is refusing to log in again and it's downloading at a wonderful 600Bps.
