Ok, one small issue that could prove life threatening in my household atm..

I can't get to the Logitech Harmony site so I can't reprogram my remote.. this is going to cause MASSIVE fights very soon... eish.....

*prepares myself by finding my portable mace manufacturing plant*
 
I see now why my astraweb picked up at 8pm. My routing starting pushing it though my afrihost connection.

hehe, oh well.
 
OMFG. Was all going well and nicely at about 40KB, but since this morning it's been flat on it's face all day! Is this because of the shaping, if so I'm canceling, or are there further issues with Seacom/Telkom/Neotel? Because websites are timing out, direct http downloads are going between 10KB and 20KB, down up down. Dave what gives? I've only got a 384kb line btw :S
 
something gone badly wrong....cause from about 2 hours ago I can't do any http downloading....browsing is impossible......:cry::wtf:
 
YOU GUYS ARE COMPLAING ABOUT SPEEDS...

seeing that some of you guys are complaining about speeds and others just taking a break from their 'abuse' of the internet... why don't u try my situtation and not have internet, for the entire weekend... thanks digichill

yeah im exactly the same boat, all was fine was getting good speeds for days, now its dead. its not seacom the screamer acc runs at a constant 30k/sec (which isnt great, but better). Digichilli was a lot better about a day ago, so i dont think its seacom. For a few of us that were getting good speeds and downloading too much they now say that we are abusers and causing the other people to download slowly. And thus are banning those ppl,

all they basically done is break it for those who has/had GOOD service/speeds so everyone is suppose to have slow speed.

Yeah its been awesome for like a week...then bam epic fail. If you read the first post their fail coincided with the install of the new line shaper:

Still no international whatsoever.
Nevermind that.... my Linux update is running at 400bps....
 
OK, at around 12:41 this morning my link suddenly took a turn for the worse:

Average dropped to 2.5kB/s both upload and download. It seems like local traffic is not too bad but any international traffic is VERY slow. This applies to torrents (which was running through the night) and http traffic :wtf:

I am on my Axxess prepaid now, just to get some things done and then I'll switch back to DC ...

Thanx for info lappies. I've got the same. Awaiting techie reports on shaper et al.
 
Dave, since your local runs on SAIX, is one able to use Telkom's news server? I've seen reports of IS being used by some of the guys but haven't (personally) been able to connect to either of the two.
 
:( I left my machine on all night with the hope that the Steam demo would complete and what I saw totally depressed me further :(. It has not moved off the one percent I left it on, and I have been trying to download it since the whole of Sunday :(. Gmail is down, cant access it :(...

I still can not do any http downloads at all not even from media fire as the page wont even load properly now......and that was the only http download links that have ever worked for me with DC.....


and my GTalk isn't connecting....
