Hi Dave

Thank you for the network status update. Things are starting to look better in terms of HTTPS sites loading up.

Please remember together with WOW, please also include Aion in the prioritization. I am dying to get back on Aion to play as soon as you guys can sort out the issues.

This whole thing reminds of the Underpants Gnomes' Business Model:

Bit harsh on DC yes, but been staring at this thread with hope for many many days and this is better than my sarcastic moaning and monotonous complaints ;)
 
browsing is mission..trying to update my blogs.......grrrrrrrr

http downloading......megaupload 2KB's if I am lucky...still downloading a 199.99MB file from 2 days ago got 19% done so far.....

mediafire the only place that I could actually download from is still all wonky and I can't download at all from there......

I have given up on DC. This is week 3 for me.. still not decent usage. SAOL is my next ISP. Just waiting for the month to pass, so I can cancel this DC account. (On my Telkom account now)

I'm just happy I didn't cancel any accounts....
 
here a new interesting POINT seacom get it bandwidth from London and wait 4 it..... France..... y cant we just connect through them WTF it would make everything easier

I don't want it to end...I see no end. Things get better and faster, albeit with time, but just so....

This is the current status.

Our upstream provider is dropping packets. A substantial amount of packets. They have not as yet rectified this problem. This will affect anything international. Http, torrents, streaming video etc.

Local is fine. This is more an indication of what we're aiming for - except the extra 280ms lag of course.

Neotel crashed today at about 16h00. It took about 20min to come up again. We are going via Cape Town, which adds 50ms to anything international as well. We are waiting for them to remedy this.

We are still in the process of configuring the shaper to meet requirements, e.g. games, browsing, torrents.

We will update you to any more news as soon as we have it.

The Cape is epic :love: although I prefer do most my beaching/tanning around 9am after surfing, miss the crowds... That sun is hectic, got me in 30 min the other day. Teach me to go at 2pm :p But the endless summer days are priceless...

This thread, afaik, was meant for DC to give us updates and for us to give feedback on network conditions, I know. But it has evolved some what, into the monster we now have before us :p

You don't live in the Cape, do you? :p
