Or a solid punch in the face. *shrugs*

Actually, yes.

This London to Durban to Midrand issue has been there since the start.

There is someone not doing their job...Or it's industrial sabotage...

Each supplier needs to start, from DC, up the line and prove to each other, that the throughput in, is what comes out.

The one that can't...get's f**ked up.

Simple.

I don't think the problem is with Digichilli. I thing the problem is with Seacom/Neotel itself.

If you look at the companies that just supply Seacom data they all have the same issues. I read somewhere that Cybersmart actually cancelled their agreement with Seacom for this exact reason and went back to SAT.

The sad thing is that despite all Digichilli does nothing will improve until their suppliers sort their issues out.

I do stand to be corrected here so feel free to elaborate if I am wrong. :D

By the way speaking of Cybersmart does anyone know what this secret offer that they are launching next year is?

Screamer is using Seacom, or a Seacom blend and both of my Screamer accounts are Screaming now so I don't think it has anything to do with Seacom.

It has to do with the allocation of pipes and then the traffic congestion at each point. Server CPU overload or whatever traffic else each point does.

It means that DC has been placed on an inferior link-up for it's clients(In my mind, from the start...).

This is no joke. R20million - R40million...will make me hunt down the guilty, personally.

So I take it I am not the only one to see the network slow down to a crawl? :( Damn just when things were looking on the up and up *sigh*...

Indeedies, simply because another user of seacom is not experiencing the fault does NOT mean that seacom is not the faulty party.

Chances are Afrihost, Screamer and Digichilli probably aren't even going through the same switches along the route. What's there to say DC aren't on an inferior or faulty switch/router at some point or another???

Since my last 6-hourly disconnect I am now also on a 41.66.67.xx address and my torrents which were going at around 20-30kB/s are now completely dead.

My astraweb and torrents are not doing to bad at the moment and browsing seems to be okish.

So thats what did it :( Anyone know what the previous setting is? Maybe if we put that in manually things will come right? :p

Just got the new IP. Just before it restarted, it was very very slow. but limited packet loss.

Edit, forgot to say its completely dead now.

how are u connecting ti the news server s /

I am using Astraweb, and downloading using Grabit.

Up until 10 minutes ago, I was screaming along at +- 37KB/s (up from the 10KB I reported earlier) before it just ground to a halt.

Now it wont restart

I'm now on the 41. range after i reconnected. Everything is terrible T_T

Was out for awhile, checked and saw my torrents running at 25 kbs, refreshed mybb, and all of a sudden my torrents dropped below 5 kbs and stays there. Changed ports and then it starts up high, depends on the port, sometime starts at 200 kbs, sometimes at 180 kbs or 80 kbs, and over a minutes, drops, again depends on the ports, to 10, 15, 16, 18, 20, 25 kbs. almosts random. And by the way I am on a 384.

Why is it doing this? Is it due to the shaping?

Of course it is. There 384 clients run at about 120KB to 150KB and the torrents are running at 5 to 10 kb if you lucky.
