Hey LS,

I've been mostly skipping over the packet loss discussion as our firewall drops pings. Haven't been reading too closely on the hops. The original packet loss issue was resolved. It had to do with IPC size re international etc.

Which two IP's are both sides of the problem?

I'll tell you which ones are our routers and upstream providers.

I'm not getting any packet loss so would like to identify if this is an issue.

@Dave,

Will you be posting a network update soon? My experience with the network has not changed since 24/12. Slow international for everything, no Steam, slow local except for traffic from the DC network.
 
So after a lightning storm took out the exchange for the second time this month I have been Internetless :(. Now that I am back what has happend? I left with torrents dying and Steam dead and I come back and nothing has changed :(. Steam still cannot connect torrents are useless to me and everything else is meh with gmail failing to load correctly.

DC When can we expect to see an improvement? Or are things still pretty much unknown?

/switches back to Telkom account...
 
Hey what’s going on? I go to sleeps and things a working I wake up and all my downloads stopped. C'mon guys this is getting tiresome. Fix the stuff and leave it fixed. Everything was running nicely from the 23rd to the 26th and then boom something blewup. Hope you get it fixed soon!

is DC working for anybody? was runnig well last night, but now struggling. only me?
 
torrent arn't running the way it use to over those 4 days but it's kinda getting there.
 
This is be the current status:

There was a DNS issue for a while last night. It should be resolved now.

For the rest:
  • Browsing: Local and International. Good.
  • Torrents: Slow +- 10kB/s during day at the moment.
  • NZB: Int'l Still as slow as torrents. Local Faster, also depending on seeds.
  • D/L's. Depends - up to 100kB/s for non-continuous D/L's.
  • Mail. Fine.
  • Gtalk, IM, Skype. Fine now.
  • Audio streaming. Fine.
  • Video Streaming. Not so hot yet. Buffering still.
  • STEAM: Someone needs to check this again now for me.
  • SL, WoW and others. Let me know please.

Pings and Latency:
Local pings should be <50ms. I get 21ms on Spicy.

If there are any specific issues outside of this, please mail me and I'll see what we can do. The call centre lines are currently down, so mail support (at) digichilli (dot) com.

Torrents haven't been above 1kB/s for the last few weeks. Day/Night.

Not sure where you get the +-10kB/s from.

everything running sweat my side. things seems good once again. NICE AND HOT
 
morning guys got back from holiday late yesterday to find the 3g torrent i have been working on for 15 days before i left for 7 more is still not done :cry:

and dave dude wow does not even want to connect cant log on cant do anything
 
Well my torrents are going at exactly 0,0 - rapidshare manager is reporting anywhere between 3.3kb and 4.4kb.

My mail IS NOT coming through to my domain as it should - 'the connection to the server was interrupted'.

And emailing support@ is pointless because nobody gets back to you...I spoke to a tech yesterday before the phones went down + he promised to get back to me in 10mins....still waiting.

I need this for business like desperately!!

Hi Dave.

Everything is slow on my side.
Torrents are downloading at +- 1.5kB/s.
Browsing - International - slow as hell. Local OK. (Nothing more than 10kps though)
Gmail takes like 3 minutes to load.
I know that this is not as good as it gets because previously I was getting much better speeds.
You guys sure eveything's ok on your side?
 
My torrents are also very slow. Astraweb was very good a while back. Browsing seems to be good. Does anyone know whether DC will have their own news server?
