The amounts of hops don't really matter if there's no packet loss and hardly an increase in RTT.
The problem starts with packet loss from London to BCS Midrand/Durban to BCS Midrand/Durban.
The BCS to BCS route has some serious packet loss at both points or at alternating points at particular times.
.....
I hope Dave or BCSChief gives us some info on what BCS is doing to identify and rectify the packet loss.
Hey LS,
I've been mostly skipping over the packet loss discussion as our firewall drops pings. Haven't been reading too closely on the hops. The original packet loss issue was resolved. It had to do with IPC size re international etc.
Which two IP's are both sides of the problem?
I'll tell you which ones are our routers and upstream providers.
I'm not getting any packet loss so would like to identify if this is an issue.
