Digital can’t wait

They had to mention apartheid as well.. LOL

It might be that the presidency thinks the comments made against ministers like those of the DoC and the DoH, are racist in nature. The presidency is mistaken, but because of this, these incompetent ministries survive.

The ANC seems to think everyone opposing them is racist, including the BBC!

They always have to play the damn apartheid card. Damnit, move on!

Harber tries to portray himself as more concerned with the growth and contribution of broadcasting to the development of local content than the minister.

Damn right he is! Whats wrong with that?

However, the success of our broadcasting sector shows the minister’s commitment to these issues.

Show us proof of this "commitment". I won't believe it untill I see it. Even then I will have to go for psychiatric help.

*tries to calm down*

I'd think the last 5+ yrs of the DoC do it by itself, and still we hope that they see the light and finally do the ONLY thing they suppose to.

Haha, trust misguided fools such as the author to apartheid into every issue they can. Move on...it's been more than 13 years.

The article bares resemblance to the propaganda of the former Iraqi information minister.

"The American's are not in Iraq!"

BOOOOOM!

"What was that?"

"Nothing!"

I wonder how much extra snivelling little weasels like this get paid to fall in line with goverment propaganda.

Relax guys, South Africa is merely being true to its name. Just 2 more examples:

A while back the contract with the ad company for the Love Life campaign expired, with no contract in line to take its place.
Last week the contract for the lotto expires, with nothing to take its place - lotto gets suspended.

In Africa, nothing ever gets done in time. The DoC is merely following their fine example and by that standard, have performed fantastically.

Telkom's exclusivity on SAT-3 is expiring this month. Has our lovely regulator done anything to figure out what should happen now?

He pessimistically warns that the plan to switch to digital terrestrial broadcasting by 2011 will not succeed in the aftershock of the minister’s pay TV surprise (March 28).

Was it a surprise to them too then?

*mutter*

I am getting sick of this emerging from apartheid horseraddish that keeps getting bandied about. The current guavamint is the reason we're in this mess, and they're the reason we keep getting further and further into it... :(

and I think this whole switching to digital thing is gonna be such a joke and a mess anyway...

He presents myriad circumstances masquerading as facts without putting anything into context.

Much like you're doing now.

Is he reacting to the article, as it's posted here, or elsewhere? In other words, is the DoC actually responding to MyADSL articles?
