Digital video questions.

Ja, it's a DV video camera. Therefore you have to capture it via DV. That way you can edit the DV footage natively on a video editing program where the project is set to DV. Native editing means that, when you render the final edit out to DV, only the parts with edits and filter and changes will be re-encoded. The rest will be a bit-for-bit copy of the original DV file. That's why you want the IEEE 1394 cable.

So you're saying that it's DV, right?

LG RH299H DVD recorder

hi, i have bought this recorder and i thought i could copy direct from the HDD to DVD but i dont know how, when i go to settings and to format dvd the window is blanked off, please can anyone help?

Windows Movie maker you can edit DV AVI but the preview window only shows on video that has been converted to crappy 640x 480 res.

Some decent video editing programmes are Ulead Video Studio, Pinnacle Studio, in in my opinion one of the best is Adobe Premiere Elements.

On my machines "SONY" and "Pioneer", inserting a blank disk forces the machine to "Format" the blank disk. You can only "re-format" re-writable disks.....on write once disks the "format" button is greyed out....this is normal.
