Dimension Data gets new CEO for MEA

Dimension Data Middle East and Africa CEO Grant Bodley will step down at the end of the month and will be replaced by current COO Werner Kapp.

Bodley will stay on beyond 31 March for a few months to work with Kapp to ensure a smooth transition.

He was responsible for the Eastern Cape, Western Cape and Gauteng regions. Over that time and in these roles, he gained experience in client, revenue and people management.

I hope for every ones sake he uses those skills to fix the atrocious client management we have had from them. Our account manager left over a year ago and was never replaced, so our only avenue to resolve issues is their support team who just close tickets to meet targets without resolving the problem. We've opened a ticket with them probably 8 months ago, and every 2 weeks they would just close the ticket without resolving the issue. We would tell them to keep the ticket open, 2 weeks later it was closed again. That went on until December when I just told them that after 15 years (originally as IS) I'm moving all our infrastructure to someone else. They didn't seem to care and gave no response.

Over the last 5 years Internet Solutions/Ignite/Dimension Data have degraded into an absolute nightmare to deal with.

True story...speak to the people that work there. He is, however, a good choice and people focussed.
