Disappointing service from CellC direct

So last week I called CellC direct to order an iPhone 4s for my wife (second contract). After going through all the details and security checks I was told that everything was in order and that my application would be loaded onto the system the same afternoon and that I could check back the next day to find out about progress. I was also told (after the sales lady went to check) that they definitely had stock.

When I called the next day I was told that my application was still not loaded so they could give me no info regarding progress.

Today I called again as I had still received no info on the status of my application. The sales lady tells me that everything is in order and my application is approved but they now have no stock - and she has no idea as to when they will get any stock! She then goes on to ask me if I want another phone instead!

I understand that stock situations are tricky, especially at this time of the year, but I really hate false promises and being kept in the dark.
@CellC, please learn the meaning of customer service.

Name! "Sales Lady" doesn't help! I never take names then again I never complain.
