Discovery Bank

Thank you, I was just hesitant with regards to income verification. It wouldn’t be beneficial to move to platinum or black if I needed to submit proof of income, as I would lose diamond status, but if they don’t then it’s great. Savings is fine as well thank you.
Remember for the iPhone benefit on platinum, you need discovery Insure as well

PS if any of you are planning to sign up to discovery use my code then you will get 5000 Discovery Miles.

Is that only on Platinum, or black as well

I cant seem to find the iPhone benefits for black apart from them saying meet your Active rewards goals

Does anyone know if you can specify external savings like the FNB global USD amount?

Quote: "These savings must be across your Discovery Bank savings accounts or in investments with other non-bank financial institutions, which are not for retirement."

So the non-bank financial institutions would rule out FNB

It accepted my Liberty RA accounts..

But yes non-bank accounts ie. Momentum, 10X etc.

Does discovery money goals take a while to activate after the required savings?

Hitting activate money goal just takes me to my vitality money blue status page

So, I am thinking of closing my Discovery bank account at the end of this month. I'm not getting as much value from it as I thought I would. Their savings interest isn't too bad. But I get more back by putting any spare money I have, into my bond instead. No bank can beat the "returns" I have on doing that instead.

Now that FNB has Apple Pay; there is less reason for me to keep Discovery. I'll see how I feel about it by the end of August.

Is it possible to request an account closure?

Anyone else not getting any Active rewards money points? I’ve got the savings balance to be eligible, and did enough transactions this past Saturday to already meet the goal (all transactions cleared). Is it just Vitality being weird?

Yes, definitely. Closed mine in January. Process was fairly quick and easy by phoning their call centre.
