Does anyone have a recent update on the status of gym booster "will soon end" and "you will soon ...boost up to 100% cash back with Vitality gym benefit with Discovery Bank"?

I'm trying to work out what cashbacks are outstanding on the old and when 100% cashbacks on the new can be expected?
Nope.. queried it about a month ago on facebook and they said they'll let us know when they are ready.

Hi

From what i got gym booster will still work when you move. However, they give you an option (they try to shove it down your throat actually) to move from Vitality Health Gym Booster to Vitality Money Gym Booster which works differently by taking the *full* gym fee from your account and then refunding you back your money to the Vitality Savings Account. If you don't opt in you stay on VH Gym Booster.

Thanks for this. My current gym discount + Active Rewards gym booster means I currently get 100% gym costs back.

Im hesitant to move over too soon till the bank gremlins are sorted out and the "up to 100%" requirements are clear.

The corresponding Platinum number is R17 500. This applies to other dynamic rates and rewards too I think , not just the flights

R45000 a month cc spend for gym booster? They must be kidding ,I won't be able to utilise much of these up to % cash back purely as I don't spend enough on my cc? More and more disappointed, will wait to see more about their miles program if not I'm out

Do you know what the requirement is to get to Diamond on Black or Platinum?

Also, do you know what the requirement is to get the 75% international flight discounts?

Thanks.

I currently understand it as :

1. The cards colour - (Gold, Platinum, Black) - is allocated by your salary/income - You need to earn R850K to be Black.
2. You get Vitality money status - ( Blue, bronze, gold, diamond) is based on your money health - debt management, retirement, saving, insurance, property. You need 100 000 points from Diamond. Not money gold for 3 years.
3. The discounts are based on card colour (1) and status (2) and spending bands (3).
4. You then get weekly goal and goal points - but mine is not active - so I have no idea if this is just for picking a weekly reward tile or counts to wards vitality money status.

It is so complicated that Discovery is still looking for a way to explain it - that is why the brochure is not available :)

They appoint the Malusi Gigaba's Director General of Home Affairs into the bank and wonder why its not going so well. https://www.businesslive.co.za/bd/n...ffairs-director-general-mkuseli-apleni-quits/

Which colour card is this for? Platinum?

They could so easily show this in a table...

I think diamond requires 80k points

Spend R45000 to get R250 back? Madness!

No 80000 points to reach gold then after that you should have 100000 in savings with them to be upgraded to Diamond
Yes, you're right. Apologies for the confusion, but yes, these rules are very confusing and not spelled out anywhere.

So frank question.. what's the best way to game the card spend points with the least weekly admin? because lets be honest, there's no actual "healthy banking behaviour" that's encouraged to get your rewards so I just want to get my extra weekly chance to claw back R25+. (without it costing me more than R25)
  • fill up with petrol one or more times a week (time wasting)
  • buy prepaid elec in small increments (not sure if this results in a kWh rate penalty)
  • get the PnP teller to ring up your groceries in batches (is going to annoy people).
  • buy lots of R50 Takealot vouchers. (Redeem it on toilet paper or some other essentials)

Well that's what I tried, I fill up R50 at BP several times ,it's on my way,
Groceries I try split them,
If I'm with ppl who were going to pay cash I swipe for them and take their cash.
It's such an effort that has given me a whopping 25 points,I now couldn't care, how this is supposed to be responsible spending is beyond me?

Currently vitality if used is not bad bang for buck . Don’t see the benefits in the bank ..yet especially without discovery miles
