Discovery Bank

These are my two reasons for wanting to switch from the old Discovery Platinum to the new Discovery Bank Black (credit cards)... but nowhere does it explain what is required to achieve the gym boost or additional flight discounts. Do you know?
I also want to know. I hope the 100% gym fee is achievable. I have heard that you need to debit your gym fee from your discovery account now.

I will be getting my card this friday.

Any idea how low it takes for Discovery to reflects your savings if updated on the app ? More than a week and still it does not reflect ?

Nope. Currently sitting on 7/20 points. I only shop once or twice a week.
It gives you points for spending! I thought vitality money would be linked to savings.

Encouraging responsible financial behaviour.

On the one hand they want to save (because you can't earn points if you don't have the minimum savings balance), and on the other they want to spend in as many microtransactions as possible (why spend 1000 on the card for 3 points when you can get 3 points with R60 (3 * R20 transactions))?

It honestly feels like an afterthought of a feature to link up to their other active rewards. Of course, their goal is to make sure by default you're pulling out your discovery card for you everyday purchases, instead of your main bank credit card. That way they earn the merchant fees on those transactions.

R10 too little for a point while R699 equals 2 points. So increments of R300? Then again R9000 counts for 3 points only, so R300 increments not issue

Are the points different according to your Vitality Money status? for me 1000 is 2 points and 3 * R20 = 1.5 points

R20 - R49 = 0.5 points
R50 - R499 = 1
R500 - 2499 = 2
R2500+ = 3

Different question

Does anyone know ,as I'm not getting any miles while in the new cc, when their new miles starts'next month' will they back date accumulate the miles from when we got the new cc?

My partner and I also got invites today
Might keep as backup account, currently my credit record took a dump as I canceled my fnb card and converted to fusion. Fusion account does not show up on a credit profile, so now I almost have no credit listed.

Not much information available yet about the new "e-money" offering. We'll have to wait and see. I doubt they will back date during the time Miles stopped and new one starts. A consultant did tell me that my Discovery Miles annual fee I paid a month before moving over to the bank would be rebated pro-rata but I'll follow up on this once the new offering launches

Anyone else tracking their transaction spend against money goal points awarded? Im missing 13 points for legitimate transactions between 2-9 Aug. Ive queried it a few times and they keep telling me they're looking into it

They never automatically debited my annual miles fee in may, so I probably won't get ,it does give me the option to activate it,but it really shouldn't ..

I queried why I didn't get any file back in August, they replied to say that I was on second band zero at the time of calculation, i spent about R11000 in July! Make no sense

Does the percentage shown on the app(eg 4% back in fuel) take into consideration the spend band allready?
