That is the Gold card, the cheapest package. It is the best looking card of them all.

They’re embossed, but not as definitive as the other cards.

Indeed looks flat, so car rental companies might give you issues with that type of card, as need to physicaly scratch the card to copy paper lol

I don’t think they will force you to be on platinum but they will have heavily incentivize you to stay on the highest applicable bracket.

At the moment I'm paying zero fees with Absa as I'm on a very old active save account,and pay nothing for transactions. So the benefits better be good to move

I'm curious to see if Discovery Pay will be like FNB Pay where it only uses NFC or Samsung Pay which uses NFC and MST. A bank in the US got special permission to use MST in its app. I wonder if Discovery will manage to do the same.

Yes you will be able to choose a lower package during the Account Opening. The app will deliver the highest package that you qualify for but you can go lower.

Danm I didn't see this option so I have the platinum but might try change to gold later on. Still can't find any benefit the platinum has over the gold.
