Discovery Bank

I've been trying to join and so far it has just been a frustration, they want me to resend docs I've already sent.
They do not respond to my emails or return my call, call goes unanswered at credit dept.
I was not able to upload my docs on the app.
Anyone got an email, where I can escalate?

I'm thinking about joining Discovery bank and I need some guidance to their rewards program. So currently I have discovery medical aid and I will sign up for the Platinum banking suit and also discovery insure and activate Vitality for the medical aid.

What else do I need to get to make sure I get maximum rewards from their services??

You need to meet their required balance in the savings account to be on Diamond status

Depends on the income you declare.
Not sure if my figures are exact, but here it goes anyway.
Below R350k pa income- R20k savings
Between R350k and R850k- R45k savings
Above R850k- R100k savings
 
Does anyone know how I can decrease my income that I originally reported to Discovery Bank? I just thumbsucked a figure (since I'm a freelancer) but want to decrease it.
 
Has anyone swopped to discovery drive and seen an increase in cash back? I’m currently on diamond money and diamond vitality. Also currently with Santam and they’ve been pretty awesome so far for claims so don’t know if it’s worth it

For me not work cash back, I just switched as helps having everything with them. Helps with retirement policy etc. I prefer 8 rand back per litre from fnb

Depends how you drive and how much your premium changes. I get around R500 back on petrol, and also 2 extra plays a week. Also allows me to get an iPhone free, so kind of pays for itself. Premium was less then previous insurer. Wife drives like a mad person, so didn't work for her and moved her off.

:ROFL: I am a wife that drives like a mad person but luckily it’s for my husbands car. I guess I’ll get a quote and compare thanks. The 2 free plays and petrol I forgot about

From an insurance standpoint I have had no complaints, claimed twice both times pretty simple - although your mileage may vary. Outsurance was way worse, but they are pretty useless IMHO. - I am on classic so get the hired car, although the last time didn't need it due to lockdown and work from home so they just gave me R1500 in cash (for uber benefit) I just used it for holiday.

Lol, as I type this I'm chuckling, as the biggest benefit of moving your car insurance is you can get a R20k iPhone for free.
 
Has anyone been able to "purchase" the iphone benefit using apple pay at the iStore on a virtual card?

My physical card hasn't arrived yet :P

You scan the phone's barcode and then it generates a code that you give to the salesperson and that's about it. You don't use your bank card at all in this transaction.
 
For the iphone benefit, they just reallocate a portion of your available credit so a "separate" budget account. Cant remember what I even had to swipe - maybe it will work via apple pay.
