I have the card, and in terms of discounts I cant complain. We having a child and I was able to spend R4000 in a store which I get 20% back. Then I use uber a fair deal and get a further 20% back. I also generally shop in winter at Cape Union mart and get 20% back.
All my sports equipment is purchased at sportsmans and we shop at either woolies or PnP based on proximity to home. So I still make back much more than I spend on it.
The miles also rack up pretty quick which is great. Not to mention the R6000 discount I got from a trip to USA last year. However I am pretty bleak about the increase in price per month.
The only cashback partner I still use is Toys r US and not even them so much anymore as kids are outgrowing nappies and taboo salvage has them a crap ton cheaper even with the discount.
It has become very difficult to get 20% cashback.
You only qualify for the cashback on 20% of your Ct card purchases (previously 30%) -so to get 20% back on a R4000 purchase you have to spend 4000/.2 = R20000 on the card in that month. (previously 4000/.3 = R13333)
