Discovery Vitality [2017]

Is it possible to get the healthy food benefit from both Pick n Pay and Woolworth's? As in 25% from the one and 10% from the other. If so what's needed from the Woolworth's side (for PnP its swiping your health food's card)?
Link your Woolworths card account to your vitality.

It's a shlep, and I got the royal runaround from both discovery and Woolworths when I replaced my Woolies card. It worked eventually, I dunno how, what or where.

Hi

Has anyone had any issues with their TomTom mysports app not syncing? Mine has not synced since Jan 24th. Which is also the date i updated the discovery app.

Active rewards has some problems. I ran a marathon and only got 60+ min @ 70% HR. Which is 300 points.

As a runner it is actually very difficult to obtain points and you start to realise the flaws in the points system.

What Krycor said. Regular plebs just need a maximum of 900 points a week so a weekly parkrun plus 10k steps a day x 6 will suffice. And 10k steps as a runner is a piece of cake.

That is the most you can get off a device sync. You have to manually claim event points.

As you get fitter, and hence faster, it is more difficult to get points. Running a 5k in training at 20min gives zero points. Which according to Discovery, implies that if I do a slow jog for 30min, that is a better exercise since I'll get 200-300 points.

I think there should be points awarded for workouts where you average above 90% of your max workout. This will also help people such as crossfitters who train with high intensity in short intervals.

It is also strange that there are no points awarded for 60+min workout at 60%+ of max heart rate, only 300 points for 70%+ workouts.

Fully agree - when I do HIIT sessions or hill-runs I do not record the recovery sessions (it would be pointless as heart-rate drops anyhow below the point earning threshold). I now wear my Garmin running watch for laps and at the same time my Polar A360. With the Polar I get 200-300 points as I let it run including warm-ups and cool-downs and I use the Garmin to measure the actual work-out time. Hell, a ton of people shake the accelerator in their cars on the way to work to get those 10k steps.

I stopped being obsessed about vitality points as with my daily workouts I hit the fitness point limit by April and it would then be frustrating to think that my daily runs count for "nothing". As long as I manage to stay on Diamond with a balanced lifestyle there is hardly a need to chase points (i.e. doing the fitness test or visiting the idiotic dietician who will ask you if you here for points or want to change your lifestyle - lol).

Has anyone updated to latest ios? Does Discovery sync for Garmin still work? Every time there is an update...I hold my breath to see if uploads happen...there is always a risk of a break down.

Also my step data from today hasn't synced...I haven't updated yet but not sure if there is a general glitch or normal delay or need to update or...(insert other issue here)...

What I have found with step data is. I do whatever steps today and sync it tonight at 10pm, it will not show up on Discovery. The whole day has to finish, and then if I sync it at 00:01 (just after midnight) then shortly after, within the next hour, it shows up on Discovery.

Which if you think about it, makes sense. Step data is for a whole 24 hours, not just part of the day. It wasnt always like this, but it is how it has been for the past couple of months for me at least.

Anyone with a Suunto having issue uploading workouts. I am using Android. A workout I did on Sat reflects but not one from Sunday. Cleared the app and relinked but still nothing.

I had the same problem on the 21 Jan 2017. It uploaded to Movecount, but didn't sync with Discovery. But the 22 Jan exercise did. I logged a ticket but haven't heard anything.

Thanks. Also logged a ticket. I don't understand why their systems are so unstable.

Noticed this change recently.. annoying when u on edge of getting it and worried if u have or have not gotten it. I think its to reduce the processing load need per user.

My Suunto workout from yesterday came through, but Sundays one is still outstanding.
