Discovery Vitality [2017]

So if trying to connect 2 phones to the HRM, once the first person is connected to the HRM with their phone, does it just disallow the second person from connecting?

Yeah no, you can only connect it to one phone at a time. Not 2 - let's not cheat :D

Does anyone know if Sigma trackers/HR belts have previously or wwill perhaps in future be accepted by vitality?

OK everyone calm down - I'm asking about pairing 1 hr strap with 2 phones at different times, so a husband and wife can buy 1 strap and each use when they exercise at different times

That should work easily. I am just a bit salty due to the fact that I needed to buy a 10k device in order to satisfy my training needs and Discovery's heart rate needs after the last rule change.

It works for my wife and I. We have one Garmin HRM strap which connects to whichever phone's S Health app is opened first. No issues at all.

Needed to buy a 10k device?? That sounds a bit extreme. To satisfy discovery's HR points needs I only bought a R400 device.

I primarily do lap swimming and I used to use a Garmin Swim for swimming metrics which is important to me. With the new HR rules I needed to find a device that gives me proper swimming metrics and includes reliable heart rate data. Problem 1, optical heart rate does not work reliably in water and on my arm, Problem 2, most of the normal heart rate straps end up around my ankles due to my kick off and swimming speed so I therefor need a more specific solution. So I therefor now have a Garmin FR735XT and Garmin HRM-Swim.

A few of us here bought a generic Muvit HRM from Makro when they were available. Don't see them on the site anymore though.

I got the Muvit HRM for my wife but struggling to get it to work with her Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Gave up for now. I am using the Polar H7 HRM which is more pricey but I haven't had any issues with it whatsoever.

They dont get them in anymore and it looks like its not manufactured anymore either. The cheapest decent option now is the Tom Tom heart rate monitor.

get three fellow sheep to join in the vitality exercise challenge. When two of the four ( i think ) attain their goal, each member gets awarded an extra smoothie.
im already on four in week two....

What device did you get and where did you get it from?

Garmin FR735XT and Garmin HRM-Swim both from Sportsman's Warehouse so I was refunded around R2000 from the healthy gear benefit.

Navworld has a sale on the Garmin Fenix 3 range at the moment for people who need a device that can do anything fitness related.

Anyone experiencing a delay in the allocation in heart rate points today? I did a qualifying workout of 40 mins and was allocated step points instead of heart rate. I am using a Garmin device.

Thanks

I didn't notice any delay. Did a workout of just over 30 mins this morning with my Garmin and the points reflected not long after I synced.

Did your heart rate record correctly in the workout? Reason I ask is cause my watch didn't pick up the Hrm belt one morning and then I only got 100 points for that workout.

Hi, I have a wrist based heart rate so in the connect app it told me my heart rate as well as in the record of the workout on the watch. I have sent through screen shots and they will investigate for me. I am hoping that it doesn't indicate a problem. My workout was in the afternoon so maybe a delay since then.
