You know, this change also makes maintaining Diamond status pointless. The benefit from Diamond status was mostly the cashback percentage you would receive. Now, I think it affects the discount you get on flights and that is about it.
Way to go Discovery - you have nerfed the system so bad that a lot of people may drop out of it entirely.
If you don't have a life policy with them then yes, it probably does get a bit silly.
It is worth remaining on Vitality for the HealthyFood discount alone. I mean, I get R400 back per month for healthyfood, and Vitality itself costs R239. If not for that, I would quit it.
Therefore, the only things worth doing now is whatever I need to keep my cashback at 25%. Nothing else is worth doing, including maintaining Diamond status. Just no point.
What about the boosters? Flight, gym and shoes
Depends on if you use those.
Most people catch a (local) flight or two in a year. So if you use flight booster, and get all your goals, that could be 2-3k right there for two return flights

But you need a fitness tracker of some kind in order to meet those fitness goals. Without a fitness tracker or heart rate monitor, it is impossible to get enough points to meet your fitness goals and hence you won't get the full discount.
So, to buy a fitness tracker would cost me R2000 to R3000 for that alone. Stops being a saving.
And, to be honest, I don't want one. I don't want my workouts to be tracked and measured. I just want to keep active and healthy.

Yes, < R800 for the Wahoo tickr on takealot or R995 for a Polar H7 (R745 after 25% healthgear/care cashback). You can get a bluetooth HRM chest strap for far less than that which could be paired to an app on your phone which would do the job. Just saying.
Yes you canHi guys, I need 1500 points to maintain gold or even to move up to platinum as this my third year in gold. I have maxed my fitness points and have done all the tests etc. my blood pressure and something else failed this year so i didnt get the 10k points for those two checks.
My question is, can i go and do those tests now and will i get the points that i did not get the last time?
