Discovery Vitality in 2016

Pretty certain each person build his/her own team. I added 2 persons, but both those persons only have me in their teams, not each other.
OK, that's quite interesting / flexible but I suppose probably better that way.

Vitality is nothing but a money making gimmick for discovery
Monthly membership fee of r199 is a rip off considering what you get....
It has become infested with a kazillion rules. One needs a Ph.D. To understand it.
The Apple Watch gimmick will be interesting at least. For the select fee (i.e. Those who do have a discovery credit card)
C'est la vie

Yourll are very lucky. Mine stated at 800 and moved to 850 in 2 weeks.

Next week im guessing it will be 900.

I started at 150 from day 1 when they released it. Reached it every week so far. This week is currently 350 goal, last week was as well.
GF joined 2 weeks after me with 150 goal, and her goal is already also 350 this week.

I use the Discovery app on my Samsung S5.

Being a long time Discovery member I immediately joined Vitality Active Rewards when it started and on 14th October received a sms with wiCode for small KAUAI drink for activating. My weekly goals started from 150 and have increased steadily but happy to say that each week Ive hit the target. I also "recruited" 4 active friends/family/colleagues so have been earning 2 x rewards (individual & team) each week for the last 3 weeks and will again get my next 2 rewards tomorrow (Wednesday) for achieving last week's points.

For the rewards I usually choose KAUAI drink instead of Vide coffee and screenshot the wiCode page which has worked every time at my local gym's KAUAI. Peanut Butter Bomb ftw!

The app has been buggy and slow at times, especially having to constantly log out and in in order to view points, see rewards etc but overall Discovery seem to be working hard to resolve the issues (responded quickly to a query I logegd on Twitter) and remain the market leaders in this space.

Well yeah it's a money making plan of course, but it still works quite well to motivate you to do healthy activities. From my side I feel we get plenty of benefit to make it worthwhile to keep using it for our family. Virgin discounts for the family plus the reward snacks makes a pretty nice package.

Turned out my Vitality deactivated when I changed to private capacity, so reactivated it and everything is there. In this case it wasn't the stupid app's fault.

Considering what you get?

Free gym membership (pre-2010 signup) for my SO and I: R1400 per month
25% off all healthy food that I purchase at Woolworths: R200 min per month
25% off a bunch of stuff at Dischem: R100 per month
25% off 'Healthy Gear' - generally around R500 back per year

Seems okay to me. Different strokes, I guess

My vitality rewards also started at 800:wtf: ...pretty screwed if it's only going to go up from here on in.

What is the maximum monthly rewards that they will do?

I mean in the example picture on the discovery website it has 1200 points. Seems a bit tough.

For this year the maximum will be 1200 points.

Next year things will change and you'll only get 100 pts per gym visit. You can then earn additional points based on the duration and intensity of the workout - up to 3000 per day. Which makes me think that obviously then the weekly goals would have to change as well align with this.

The other change is that you'll be able to get to Gold just based on exercise points alone - they've increased the caps so that you can get to 45000pts without having to do Aids tests etc. Definitely a lot more emphasis on exercise next year.
