Discovery Vitality in 2016

Hmmm I never noticed the points changing. Because while we require 90k points to stay on diamond, we at like 108k points, so 2-5k points we can easily miss if it changes, as long as it stays over 90k. But still a problem for that case we not that far over and also other people just just making it.

And today it's back to 250 to go.. gonna stick to 2-3x cardio besides other half gym sessions to make sure we get there

Yah it's usually ok if you >5k over. It's when your close and get it in the last month that the system issues are noticable

I have a Kauai voucher that I cannot use. Expires today. PM me and I'll send you the voucher.

EDIT: Voucher donated. :)

Where's the 2017 thread?

Because next years points are limited and cut it would be interesting if at the end of every month people post where they are & number in plan. pitty forum doesnt have a data collection thing, alternatively we could set it up via Google Forms.

Reason: I am curious if people will try to get there later in the year and actually get there. e.g. this year I had 60% of points by April, 80% by Sept and 97% by nov

This morning..

90 350 (been going to gym etc)

Check it now..

89 750

WTF! Talk about a unstable system. This after their supports sends me an email showing it is 90 250.. this why I am pulling the plug on all discovery vitality integrations etc (besides excessive cost) if they can't keep this stable and everything is integrated.. good luck.

I havent been tracking my points to see if some of it disappear or not and I am not putting too much faith in their allocation of points for heart rate. I've had sessions which were almost the same getting different points and I have no idea how they work it out. Unfortunately I've just been to busy to follow up with Discovery.

HR points is easy to see.. iOS tracks workouts in the Health app and shows the avg HR for the session. I've never really had discrepancies with the actual allocation other than limits not documented (5000 steps only applies for ?? times <-- no clue that this number is)

I see pick n pay is now showing signs of a store card launch. Wonder if this will cause changes in the way the vitality benefit works in the new year...

I do get that with my fitbit, its just in some cases I dont understand how discovery allocated 200 or 300 points when there was almost no difference in the HR values. I even set up my custom HR band in my fitbit. Anyhow, next year I will be more vigilant on how it gets allocated and follow up.

Easy.
70-79% age related HR average for 30-59min = 200 points
80%+ age related HR average for 30-59min = 300 points

Was part of the changes in Aug-Sep I think.

So your average HR must be borderline on 79-80% which is why you get surprised every time.

Yes, I know. That is what I am saying, I wasnt allocated the correct points based on their hr bands in some cases. Every once in a while it glitched.

5k steps only is awarded ten times for annual Vitality points, but seems to be unlimited for weekly active rewards.

Nah got it a LOT more than 10x before it was cut off. Now I just do the 10000 steps when I know I can't get to gym.

Anyway made it this year but next will be interesting as cycling for points is no longer worth it vs time & points achieved.

2017 is the year everyone goes to gym and does cardio for 30min x2-3 a week lmfao. Maybe it's a good thing, will re-evaluate in March

Anyone want a smoothie voucher that expires today?

I'll take it if no one else wants it in the next ten minutes and you really have no use for it. If someone else wants it they are welcome to it. I'll PM you my cell number so long.
