Disney + : Device Functions

They said they're working on it and to keep checking. Mine seems ok for now

Anyone with Samsung TV app getting 4K? Heard a rumor that they activated it, and if so stereo, 5.1 or Atmos?
Interesting.

I'll check on my Q70R soon. I'd be keen to try the new models though!

My Q70R is now saying 4K within the settings, but I don't see a change with the sound (ie still stereo).

The stats are below and I think I read that it's upscaled now

Edit : I've heard the 1080 is the interface, and I've heard it is upscaled. I really don't know but I'll try get the article

The Samsung now matches the C1 with stats, and according to https://www.glitched.online/disney-south-african-app-tested-720p-upscaled-to-4k-across-tv-apps/

This TV is 4K but for some reason, the stats on a 4K stream showed that the TV was only HD and the stream was being sent in 4K. However, there were most definitely some strange artefacts on the image which clearly shows that due to the app loading in 1080p (because the app thinks the TV is HD), the stream quality wasn’t 4K at all. It was just HD.

In other words Disney + App is shyte as we have e already concluded.

I'm actually not 100% sure he's right, but I don't know any better.

That may be, but regardless, Disney have not, made mych effort to create a decent App, and appear to nit care too much about improving it, at this stage.

Which is plain stupid, as people are prepared to pay for their service, but can get their content from other sources in better quality, and with less blood pressure issues, than via their shoddy app, so they are going to loose customers and give people who would rather not pirate their content reason to continue doing so.

Ah ok, still stereo sound. Thought us LG users will be left behind again but doesn't seem so. Hope they fix the sound issues soon as the quality (bitrate) on stereo is very bad.

New quirk on the LG app for me though is 4K content now also freezes like some reported previously, mine didn't before, this is since last update to the app. Don't know if it is with certain content only. Don't these okes beta test the apps at all?

Nope they seem to follow the DSTV model, make changes, push them out see what the lemmings cry about, try and fix, repeat.

Saw last night I have that option, however when i watch some shows they skip a few seconds ahead every minute or so. Actually couldnt watch anything last night, have a 100mb fibre line.
Not sure if thats maybe related to the TV trying to stream it in 4k Will try drop the resolution to HD and see if it persists.

I also heard that is one of the immediate issues that arose from the 4K upgrade and it happens on all resolutions now. Would be great if you can confirm?

So i tested it and its definitely the 4k setting. If i set the resolution to auto or to 4k (2160p) then the video skips every few seconds, a few seconds. I thne set it to HD (1080p) no issues. If I set it back to 4k the issues reoccur. I have no issues streaming 4k on any other service Netflix Amazon the like. Hopefully this gets sorted out soon. FYI I have a Samsung smart tv (the app is from there) not sure if the issue is across the board or just on certain devices.

Don't know if it's been mentioned on any of the other threads, but on my phone (Android) I see that downloads are now available.
