Disney + : Device Functions

So i tested it and its definitely the 4k setting. If i set the resolution to auto or to 4k (2160p) then the video skips every few seconds, a few seconds. I thne set it to HD (1080p) no issues. If I set it back to 4k the issues reoccur. I have no issues streaming 4k on any other service Netflix Amazon the like. Hopefully this gets sorted out soon. FYI I have a Samsung smart tv (the app is from there) not sure if the issue is across the board or just on certain devices.
Heard that the 1080p also skipping was on the Samsung TV's only so maybe they fixed it. The skipping on 2160p looks like it's on Samsung and some Android TV models. I use the app on my LG C1 and on 2160p/Auto it pauses and you have to exit and go back in and it happens like every 30 seconds or so. If I set it to 1080p it doesn't happen at all. It didn't use to do it, only since the last app update but don't know if it is on certain titles only maybe. The apps are a real mess

There are a plethora of Disney+ threads on glitches and content, but many of the hardware function differences just get buried.

So prefer to keep this to what devices have which functions. So, to start I've confirmed :

Just an update to the list. My Samsung Q70T now has 4K in the resolution menu but does not display the metadata on the media front page. I also purchased a Google TV with Dolby Vision and Atmos. The content does not play using Vision or Atmos and just uses HDR. Another thing to note is neither devices have the IMAX version of the content

So seems Dolby Vision and Atmos is completely broken?

*edit Oh wait, Samsung doesn't allow Dolby Vision

Not sure if mentioned before, but I can't seem to find a "play from beginning" button for things already watched. Makes rewatching anything annoying.

Am I the only one having problems with the Disney+ app on the Explora Ultra? Damn thing doesn't want to play the next episode. After watching an episode you need to exit from the whole app and sign in again to watch the next episode. On top of that the picture quality hasn't improved, still on 720p

That's DSTV - head I am out of there.

Looking at the thread title, I really couldn't keep up with what device does what , as it seemed to change continually .

Someone was telling me the other day that his C1 now gives everything, barring the Atmos ? HDR / DV / 5.1 ?

I'll test again tonight but on mine it's still stereo only

It is a moving target, Disney fix some stuff on some platforms, and introduce new bugs as well. Difficult to keep track of all issue, those resolved, and those introduced.

Whats the best media device to run Disney+ on?
I've found Apple TV offers the best experience - though every device seems to lack 'Watch from the beginning'.

That said, they are often changing features and I can no longer vouch for other devices

Thanks - Takealot had the Chromecast 4K on special so I pulled the trigger on that.

But you have an iPhone! *yell*

I think the only thing that lacks is Atmos, and I've *heard* Dolby Vision . Otherwise 4K / 5.1 etc

R1400 vs R4000+ for a device so that my daughter can watch Disney+ on her TV is a no-brainer (stupid Hisense TV I bought her doesn't appear to have an AppStore that I can download Disney+ or Spotify from).
