Disney Plus Issues and Solutions

I've got a working version finally so I'm not updating any further and risking it breaking again...
 
I didn't even consider looking for an older version, I just installed one that's two versions older than the one I had that would break after 1 episode, hopefully it works now.
 
WHAT THE HELL, DISNEY!

I'm running the latest NVIDIA Shield Pro 4K model here and my Disney+ can't play older shows properly (Always sunny early seasons, X-Men Animated Cartoon). Basically what I see is the video in the left corner, and then just garbled graphics on the bottom & right of the screen. Almost as if the video can't fill the screen properly. I suspect this has something to do with smaller resolution content.

Second Problem: With Disney+ on my PC's browser, I can see tons of genres for Disney/Star Wars/Marvel/Star. On the NVIDIA Shield I only get a few (Like 8).

So guess what? My MARVEL Page only shows MCU movies. Nothing else. Want to see Spider-Man? WHAT-IF? Deadpool? X-Men? Fantastic 4? Agents of Shield? Literally ANY Marvel cartoon? You can't, it's not there. Just MCU Movies listed ion various ways (In release order, in phases, in chronological order, etc)

This goes for the Star page too. Watch to see a Sci-Fi Movie? I don't have that genre there, go look for it on the "Home Page". Want to see a Romance Movie? Well that's not under Star Page, NOR even the Home Page - no, for that, you need to click on the "Movies Icon" on the left of the screen.

There is so much Marvel stuff out there if I search for it using the search function - But you won't find it in the Marvel section!

Since we don't have the official App, there is also no AndroidTV/Shield GUI integration. Our ZA Disney+ App was designed for cellular phones, Not TV's!

So that's Disney+ on an NVIDIA Shield Pro, everybody... Pretty much the best Media Player out there. If you're running this on an old firestick, or your hisense or whatever "smart tv", good freaken luck to ya.

Disney+ gave us a piece of junk indian hotstar knockoff App! Be Warned! Now I'm stuck with this crap service for a years subscription!

Sorry didn’t read through the whole thread not sure if this information has been shared before. Using an iPad Pro and iPhone 13 Pro If you hold down on the ”Quality” button you can get your “Stats for Nerds”. I’d assume same can be done on Android.

Not sure if this helps anyone but just thought to share. Found this out when I called in to submit my bug report for all the devices I‘m having issues with (we won’t get into that list).

Quite a few:

Featured (included their series), one shots, mcu, phases and then the timeline order

Then yours is borked, too. Half of your Marvel content isn't listed.

You won't find any of the the following in your Marvel Library.
- What If?
- Spider-Man Universe
- X-Men Universe
- Fantastic Four Universe
- Deadpool Universe
- Agents of Shield
- Agent Carter
- MODOK
- Hit monkey
- LEGION
- The Runaways
- Inhumans
- Pretty much any Marvel Animated Feature

*You might see a new Spider-Man movie or two in your "featured" list at the top, but all this content I listed here is pretty much hidden for all NVIDIA Shield owners, as far as I can tell.

Now here comes the kicker - This happens on ALL your main tabs (Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Nat Geo, Stars)
For example, go and check if you can find Disneynature content. You won't, because it's all hidden from you.

Just adding my 2 cents. Disney+ ZA is basically unwatchable on LG C1 app. Continues to buffer for no reason and alternating between Auto and Full HD quality gives only momentary relief. I found what seems to be a work around and that’s using AirPlay on iOS from the Disney+ app. But then quality is only 1080p and something seems off with the HDR.
 
I see some of the "newer" marvel stuff only streams at 720p, that running via my pc connected to TV since the Samsung is older than 2016 so can't install the app.
Also when the fck are the releasing the app on Xbox and PS? They said a month after launch...little disappointed that they can't get their **** together...

Buy a Xiaomi Mi 4K TV Streaming Stick, and enjoy! :laugh:

Yeah, nit sure why i would need to go buy the 4K stick when i have 2 devices that can already play Netflix etc just fine. I was watching Thor Ragnarok tyhe weekend and it would only go up to 720p, and that was via my pc. My PC def supports higher resolution as does my TV. Not sure why they can't just release it for PS4 and Xbox. They have in other countries...

Other countries, apparently does not include South Africa.

Complain, and suffer the hassles, or just get a proper streaming device.

You really think they going to give you better than 720p on your gaming consoles, EISH!
