Disney's 'Elemental,' which features 'non-binary' character, flops in opening weekend

It still hasn't made a profit has it?
Industry estimates suggest that the film must generate around $400 million in box office revenue to become profitable
(Which actually is a joke, there's a trick used in the movie industry to "increase expenses" by cross-billing your own company for distribution etc so they can declare lower profits and pay less to anybody getting a %profit kickback)

So king of the woke movies (barbie) is smashing records and the slow starter Elemental's looking at breaking even at minimum. I'm sure the Woke movie houses are crying

This is from the first Variety article talking to the president of Pixar.

Will “Elemental” be profitable?

We have a lot of different revenue streams, but at the box office we’re looking at now, it should do better than break even theatrically. And then we have revenue from streaming, theme parks and consumer products. This will certainly be a profitable film for the Disney company.

So no, it still hasn't made a profit yet but might still get there.

This isn't disagreeing with the numbers currently,so you're posting because his opinion was his opinion...for reasons? Cool story though
10/10 do play again

The first article you posted is dated 9 August 2023 and it has the president of Pixar saying the film is not profitable.
The second article you posted dated 16 July 2023 says the film is still in some financial trouble.

Maybe we should stop listening to the president of the company who made the movie and rather listen to you?

Is Barbie a disabled black trans lesbian in the movie?

So, watching the movie, not quite seeing all the controversy.

My comment still stands about something as stupid as genders to elements.

Who was the tranny? That went over my head. Didn’t notice a thing.

I think the one water daughter? The one that goes to college and has a girlfriend? It's like 3 sec.

I think the movies sweet to be honest. Everyone hung up about racism amd segregation. Maybe it has a taste of home having grown up in a shop too?

People forget reality sucks.

It's rough how these Woke movies keep failing (Woke as in 1 barely noticeable character nobody would have known about if bigots didn't lose their collective **** at the existence of things being included)
The latest Pixar film earned 26.4 million views in its first five days of streaming, Disney is stating that this is "the most watched movie premiere of the year on Disney+ and among its Top 10 movie premieres of all time."

Watched Elemental.

Would give it a 6/10. Story and characters where Meh and some ideas where more on the dumb side. Animation was cool at times but there was something wonky about the fire and water character animations, as if they combined some fire.png and water.png in aftereffects. General characters were into weird stuff especially the wata familie Who makes themselves cry by telling preschool jokes. Kind of Inside Out and Luca vibes.

But still watchable. Fox news obsession with wokeness asside, movie wasn't that amazing or original to be a hit.

Typical American movie with American culture. The rest of the world is getting tired of merica and want some anime.
