Display card fan

Hi,

My Display card's fan died this week and my budget is too tight to get a new card.... any suggestions?

Card:
GeFORCE 7950GT (PCI-E) 512MB
256Bit Dual DVI+HDTV+TV OUT
Model: SF-PX795GDH/512MB DDR3

Fan:
DC Brushless fan
Modle PL50S12M-3

I've gone to all the hardware shops I know of and did'nt know of, but no luck.

The cheapest I get is around R330.

Would it be a bad idea to mount a normal cpu fan on the gpu's heatsink?

My budget is really really tight... non-existent actually.

Yes. Might be a bit heavy, also doesnt have correct mounting pin orientation.
 
You cannot mount a CPU fan, no ways. Search for a secondhand GPU fan perhaps? Prophecy forum is the place to be for that.

Of course u can if u decide never to sell that card again...

That what i did with my bro's 7950GT AGP, hammered some holes with nails and put on two old cpu fans off durons and PIIIs, worked even better than before.

Just had to cut the wires to fit to the connector of the broken fan...

If u mean mount the whole cpu heatsink..then thats a no-go...coz the heat will bend the card badly due to the weight.
