Dissolve SABC Board

Communications Minister Siphiwe Nyanda backed a call from within the fast collapsing SABC board for it to be dissolved, after two more members quit on Wednesday.

I love this shipiwe guy, where has he been hiding? Takes on sabc and telkom and icasa? So when there is no more probs, what happens with mybb?

He suggested, to much laughter, that the board and executive be locked away on Robben Island until they resolve their differences.

Committee chair Ismail Vadi said that would be difficult as the board of Robben Island had also collapsed.

whahahahahaaa. :D

ROFL.

Well ... in this case I think change is good.

But I get the feeling that parliament really does think that 2 billion rand is nothing but simple pocket change.

Especially when it's not their money :D

"Holomisa suggested a skills audit of the entire SABC executive."
I doubt if they would even find the missing link

Just close it already....

I get my TV from a provider that charges me the price of a nice LCD every year (R6000) so I have no need for the SABC

And get SAA closed too - government should start spending tax money on the people - not useless national pride show-off stunts.

A skills audit? In a government run institution?
Hahahahahahaha that's made my day, really it has...
More tax payers money wasted on a useless exercise, there's more skill at a primary school than in some departments...

Need I remind you that Home Affairs carried out a skills assesment/audit a year or so ago?

Anyway, people here forget that SABC is more than 3 bland TV stations. Millions of people rely on radio for their news/current affairs/sports/entertainment and they are way out of the way of the commercial stations.

Not so much a reminder more of a "That's news to me!" :D
And pray tell what was the result of this skills audit? Is it published anywhere?

All the management was assesed and found wanting.
The assesment was ordered by the DG, but the minister tried to
minimise the fact that most of them were found unskilled to be doing the jobs they were in.

I'm sure the news wires still have the stories.

Not surprising really...

When I have time I'll do a bit of searching thanks!

Define Skills.

Skill 1: Born to ANC-elite family.
Skill 2: After Robben Island, made friends with Shabir.
Skill 3: Married into a higher ANC-elite family.
Skill 4: Got appointed to sANCbc board.

How many more skills do you want?
