DIY Gas stove installation

Guys, think its worth the trouble trying to install a Gas stove ?

I bought the Defy (https://www.makro.co.za/appliances/defy-500mm-4-burner-gas-stove-287231EA)
gas stove and oven from Makro and no gas installer ends up coming to install, leaving me to a DIY.

I need to keep the tank outside of the (Domestics) room and run the cable 5-6 meters into her room.

Any advice will be appreciated.

If anyone knows someone who's in this business, then please let me know as well. First option is always to let the professional do it - CENTURION / GP

In the case of gas appliances, I think it would be advisable to get a qualified professional to do it.
 
Please be carefull as if you install it yourself you will not have an install certificate for your insurence company most require such for gas appliances that have been installed.
 
True guys, my search will need to continue for a qualified person ...

When I read that you referred to the pipe as a cable... I immediately thought: He's gotta be in IT...

As far as I can remember from when I bought my gas stove, if you need to run gas line outside it need to be done by registered installer and must have COC. There are certain restrictions, e.g. must not be near open window, 1 or 2 metre away from drains , shut off valve etc. If thank is kept inside, you can DIY, cannot be more then 1metre away from stove, and cannot use bigger then a 9 kg tank. Also unliymited to the number of tanks you can keep and has to be stored separately.

Best is to get an installer, cos if things do go boom insurance may not cover if not too spec
 
dude. insurance requires a qualified person to sign off the install. the bottle needs to be outside and secured. just get someone qualified to do it. please.

Yip everyone, I don't know why I thought I could do it myself, but the frustration of companies promising to come and they don't pitch, is farking annoying ( even calling pipes, cables :D) .

Try West Rand Gas in Krugersdorp,they have been around for many years or Gas For Africa in Roodepoort
 
Thanks for the tips,advice and mockery people . Lets hope by Monday someone will come see me.
 
Got Royal Gas coming my way on Tuesday and quoted me R3500 for the job.

Their email communication was first class, so hope their workmanship is the same.
