Finally got a DJI Spark.

Very very awesome.

Battery life is less awesome, but as a starter drone, its nigh perfect.
Very very very happy with it.

WOW, nicely done :) .

Where and how much did you pick one up for? Guessing imported :p

What do you plan on doing with it?

Do you think this will become popular now that you got it in your hands?

What system you going to be using to edit videos with? Don't forget to share some for us here ;).

Cost 3800RMB, a little more than usual, as not released officially yet, will be 3299RMB in a few weeks.
Ordered Monday, had it Tuesday morning. Could have had it Monday if it was urgent.

I plan on flying it and taking some video (obviously :p ).

I think it will become popular, its priced right (for those not in rands unfortunately), and it does everything its big brother does (the Mavic), at half the price. That said, with the full battery pack and other bits and bobs it gets closer to Mavic base pricing.

Editing - I'm Mac based, so Final Cut, iMovie or similar. Not premiere though, as I have an aversion to renting software.

Lucky lucky! Don't you already have a Phantom?

When you get tired of this baby version let me know, I'll take it off your hands if the price is right :p

Not a bad price for unreleased then :).

Do share some videos ;) and thanks for answering the questions.

Hi.

Did you get it with the Flymore pack or just the drone?
Did the drone come with a remote control or are you using your phone?
i heard that the range is very limited if you use your phone.
Lastly, it looks like the hand gesture controls seems cool to be able to control it like that.

Just the drone. I think the flymore pack is going to be pretty essential though.
Using a phone to fly is quite awkward.
Plus, only 1 battery is.... not sufficient, and you *really* need a fast charger.

Problem is that once you add that, it gets close to the basic Mavic pricing, and i think the Mavic is a better model if you can afford to upscale.

The Spark is pretty farking awesome though, and I think the price is really fair for what you get.

It does run hot though.

Haven't got the hand waving stuff to work yet, but have been busy at work, no time to play till early next month.

Supposedly double press power while help in hands, and it should take off and be ok for hand wavy motions.
Didn't work for me, but battery was almost dead (again), so probably wanted a charge.

Did I mention that you really need a few batteries ;)

Except it doesn't.

Explain - What doesn't it do?
It does everything its big brother does.

Video - Mavic has a better sensor - 4k vs 2k, but they both take decent video. Sure the Phantom4 Pro is better quality sensor wise, as is the Inspire, but for the bang per buck, I think its excellent value for either the Mavic or the Spark.
Flying - Object collision - they both have that.
Hand directions - they both have that?
Battery - this is where the Spark loses out - short battery life, vs the other models.

Can't think of anything major that the Mavic does that the Spark doesn't.

Spark is also wifi connection vs radio so limited range and more chance of interference and randomly losing connection and hence crashing. The Mavic is radio connection like the Phantom?

It doesn't do 4k, it doesn't do slo-mo, it doesn't do high speed, it doesn't do long range, it doesn't do 3-axis stabilization, it doesn't do log... it doesn't allow slave remote... List goes on.
