Im having much trouble trying to remove very bad trojan hijackers of my vista os.
i found the 4 files which 2 is ie8 embedded and 2 .dll files,but i need utility
that deletes these files .dll files no matter what:mad:

AVAST is very good at this during pre windows boot scan.

Mind sharing the trojan titles?

Removal tools are quite common as well...

no matter what i try they keep generating and now has moved over to hijack firefox to..
these are variants of malwarealarm.
I have tried most spyware products and antiviruse software to no avail.
I visited forums and tried there methods but itseem not to work.
these are the .dll files i am trying to get rid of but it seems even in safe mode they cant be removed...
pmnlk.dll is one of them,it sits in my C:\Users\dablakmark8\AppData\Local\Temp

I am gonna dedicate this Sunday to removing it.
hijack this sometimes dont respond in vista when i try to delete these Trojans

Install linux on the side, then boot into linux and try and delete/fix whatever files from linux?

This seems to be a new surge in trojans and spyware IMO. Many people running the latest and greatest protection suites still fall prey to these little suckers.

Not fun. I have a machine of my own that needs sorting today. Good luck.

this is basically what i have done already..a quote from another internet user

I have at least two dll’s in \system32\, both of which popped in there today after I was dumb and ran an exe.

I tried the regedit idea, was told they can’t be removed.

I tried the cmd/shutting off explorer.exe…was still told the files can’t be removed.

I tried going to the files and deleting them, was told they can’t be removed.

I searched my task manager/process list, found nothing out of the ordinary.

I rebooted with a boot disk and tried deleting them using cmd prompt, was told they can’t be deleted.

I tried using 5 different programs made for the sole purpose of removing these files upon reboot…they never got removed.

I tried regsvr /u, was told “c:\windows\system32\filename.dll was loaded, but the DllUnregisterServer entry point was not found….This file can not be registered.”

I tried using several legit spyware/adware programs, neither of which found the files…or they found the files and claimed to fix them but didn’t really do so.

I tried searching add/remove programs…no out-of-the-ordinary programs running in there.

I did everything correctly, all file names and file paths were typed correctly. I must have tried all these steps at least 20 times each…just to be 100% sure, and nothing will get rid of these dll’s.

I’m currently trying to track down any other exe’s and dll’s are now on my system…to compile a list of all the files that need to be removed.

So far there’s xxyxwwu.dll, awtst.exe, awtst.dll.

If anyone has any advice at all, it would be greatly appreciated. This is the best PC I’ve ever built…and I hate knowing there’s spyware/adware running rampant on it.

you gotta love this....damn i laughed, but its not FUNNY OK..cause i have them

After these past few days I’ve come to the conclusion that there are some spyware dll’s and exe’s that rely on a system process other than explorer, that runs in normal AND safe mode. None of the above actions, nor any of the top 20 most-used actions…will work on these files. They were created for these purposes…multiply, annoy you, and permanently attach itself within your registry(try to delete the keys, and watch them pop right back up and bring their other dll/exe friends along).

Long story short…if you have the same problems…just format, and be a little safer with what you download/open/run next time around. Invest in some good anti-spyware programs, anti-virus, firewall, and definitely a process/registry blacklister(i prefer teatimer, comes with spybot s&d). Better safe than sorry, no one likes to lose everything on their hard drive over something as simple/stupid as a naughty file you opened.

Also, id like to know how you got this so we dont do the same...

Come to think about it, nvm... I can take one guess :p

You might have to end up backing up files onto another HD and reinstalling windoze... :(

I have said it before but I'll say it again, when it gets this bad and nothing will help. There is only one option and its the dreaded and hated format

i have never in my computer life come across something like this that i cant fix...
format and reinstall vista is gonna be a real pain as i upgraded to ultimate from my vista business disk...i refuse to format

did you try the repair utility on the vista disk?

Dunno if it would help but give it a shot

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html

It apparently doesnt only fix startup problems

firstly i am fked...i deleted registry file containing the strings of the virus, then i booted into xp and deleted the virus files the .dll file...right
I then booted back into vista ultimate and now the vista does not seem to work, all i get is a black screen with my mouse pointer working,
i tried repair disk of vista and nothing works now, just a black screen with a mouse pointer thats working, and thats it.

i wonder if there is a way to fix vista through xp.like transfering my backup registry of vista to vista through xp:D
So anyone with any ideas....like boodles said install linux and do the fixing from there, well i can use xp still as i have a dual boot.
will check google for that:rolleyes:

i deleted registry file containing the spt shyte
What? If you delete the registry file then windows doesn't boot because 99% of all settings are missing. Or maybe you mean registry key?

If you have a backup of the vista registry then you can import it via a dos prompt/recovery console.

I thought that using Linux might be a good option as its then windows wont be running at all (if you know what i mean - cause i dont) - but i would assume it might only work through linux, not through another windows.
