There is a website that is accessible if I go on VPN as well as from my MTN imobile internet. Yet consistently with Afrihost it times out and doesn't show. Both Windows and Android. The moment I switch to MTN it works.

I managed to load it, with no error
It is a site for the visually impaired who rely on audio as communication medium. It does include linux audio books.
I think that site might have geo blocking and is blocking certain Afrihost IP ranges thinking they belong to another country.

Afrihost is often picked up as a data center/hosting provider, and if there's VPN/proxy/bot blocking, this could lead to Afrihost users being blocked. I know Google pick up Afrihost as a data center on Google Play and sometimes block gift card redemptions because of it. I'd reach out to the site owner and just ask them.
Yeah it is not Afrihost but that site that has some blocking that blocks certain IP ranges.

This we've experienced, and asked Afrihost about ages ago and never got a satisfactory response. These days we need to go to my in-laws place if you want to activate a playstore card
Contracts? Link on their site to the contract packages?
I had all kinds of ports open on my router for services I hosted on my home server, never had an issue... Changed to cloudflared for security and all still works - minus the need for open ports on my router.

Listen, I dont very much like afrihost, but ... extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof
At the very least you need to share what package you are on etc
For me they told me this "you cannot access our router settings" now I can't game, Netflix won't load, Amazon prime, basically only YouTube works and certain websites like mybroadband lol best ISP so far 6 days in hell with them as the torturers
