I have a strong belief in life after death, along the lines of we all have souls, each life a test on the building of ones soul, at one stage I believed all humans had souls, but that belief began to falter when you see what hatred some people afflict on other humans, the rapist,murderers,soldiers..... The world is just a sick place , at times I often think that earth might actually be hell........

So do you believe that all humans have souls?

you need to define what a soul is. there is no afterlife unless you can show it to us

Whenever I see this, it always reminds me of the one scene in Contact where Eleanor asks Palmer Joss to prove that God exist. :p

it depends on perception, i mean if we can define God or afterlife and understand what someone is trying to say, but a place that people go for being good? nah

There is also no air, except if you can show it to us ... (except Witbank - that does not count)

+1

i can demonstrate evidnce for air in multiple ways, show me one way you can demonstrate an afterlife other than a guy coming back from the dead and writing about it. an afterlife is still plausible until you begin giving rules and restrictions for who can get into the afterlife. if it's real, it can be proven by science

I'm not a religious person, in fact I do not like religion, Hate church and seen enough of it to know that it is a business. Been to a religious school where a lot of the teachers turned out to be pedi's . Went to a religious hostel where I saw funny things go on..... Seen churches bash each others religion, Religion is man made, the bible is not the word of god, it is the word of disciples.... everyone knows how the ruler of the day changes writings to suite their ambitions.....

The above being said, I come from Celtic stock and have strong beliefs that there is something "bigger" after death...

When my daughter was born, we received the message that my grandmother in Scotland had passed away an hour before she was born.....

At 02h00 in the morning, when my mother passed away from cancer in the local hospital, my father was by her side, my brothers and I where waiting in the family lounge, without knowing that at the exact time my mother passed on, the lights in our lounge started to flicker, the other lights in the house stayed on.....

At the age of 21/22 I eperienced two OBE's , I was'nt dying, sick, on drugs or dunk, Lying on my bed, I felt me/myself leave my body, difficult to describe, I could'nt move my body, but felt myself drift above the bed, I "floated" to the roof and could see myself and my brother sleeping below..... It would be too long to describe what happened on both these occasions.... needless to say, I was disturbed by what had happened to me.... Realising that us as humans tend to forget details the older we get to promise myself never to forget what happened to me on those two nights.....that there is more to this life than we can possibly understand...

Years later, I was in the hospital next to my father when he died, I was sitting next to him waiting for the doctor, he was lying down on the table, moaning to me about his chest pains.... I was teasing him, strange sense of humour, after awhile he was silent, but still breathing, then suddenly I saw a white flash of light just to the left of his head, 4 seconds later he heaved, and in a good scottish accent, his last words were , "Oh Fu*&!" and he was gone.....

I don't care for what the Naysayers and religious folk say, I know, and for this matter, I fear not death, I do however feel sad for those of my kin I have to leave behind, knowing full well I shall see them all again.....

There are souls, but one has to wonder , do all people have them, for there are evil people who float amongst us....

(Liked my last line, now I sound like a nutter.....)

I dont share your belief, but I'd be happy to try follow through on your thought process. So humans all have soouls, except if you're nasty. So at what point would a human lose their soul? And what would make them be reborn without a soul?

This is a song about prejudice
And the language of prejudice
And the power of... the language of... prejudice
It's called
Prejudice

In this modern freespoken society
There is a word that we still hold taboo
A word with a terrible history of being used to abuse oppress and subdue
Just six seemingly harmless letters arranged in a way will form a word
With more power than the pieces of metal that are forged to make swords
A couple of G's an R and an E an I and an N
Just six little letters all jumbled together have caused damage that we may never mend
And it's important that we all respect that if these people should happen to choose to reclaim the word as their own it doesn't mean the rest of you have a right to its use
So never underestimate
The power that language imparts
Sticks and stones may break your bones but words can break hearts
A couple of G's G's unless you've had to live it an R and an E Even I am careful with it
An I and an N, in the end it will only offend, don't want to have to spell it out again

Yeah

Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger
Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger
So listen to me if you care for your health
You wont call me ginger less you're ginger yourself
Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger

When you are a ginger life is pretty hard
Years of ritual bullying in the school yard
Kids calling you ranga and fanta pants
No invitation to the high school dance
But you get up and learn to hold your head up
You try to keep your cool and not get head up
But until the feeling of Ill is truly let up
And the word is ours and ours alone don't you know

Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger
Only a ginga can call another ginga ginga
So if you call us ginge we just might come unhinged
If you don't have a fringe with at least a tinge of the ginge
Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger

Now listen to me when I am looking for sympathy
Just because we're sensitive to UV
Just because we're pathetically pale
We do alright with the females
Yeah I like to ask the ladies round for ginger beer
And soon their running their fingers through my ginger beard
And dunking my ginger nuts into their ginger tea
And asking if they can call me ginge
And I say "I don't think that's appropriate!"

Coz only a ginger can call another ginger ginger
Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger
And all the ladies agree it's a fact once you've gone ginge! you can't go back
Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger

Yeah go ginge go you funky motherfunkin ginge

Yeah you can call us bozo or fire truck
You can even call us carrot top or blood nut
Yeah you can call us match stick or tampon

But ****ing with the G word is just not on
If you're a ginger-phobe and you don't like us
You gonna stand up to the fight if you want to fight us
But if you cut yourself you might catch gingavitis
So maybe you should shut your funky mouth

Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger
Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger

So if you call us ginge you can't winge if you're injured
If you don't have a tinge of the ginge in your minge

Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger yeah
And you know my kids will always be clothed and fed
Coz poppas going to be bringing home the ginger bread
And they be pretty smart because they'll be well read
And by read I mean read and the other kind of red, its a ****ing homophone!

Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger yeah!
Only a ginger can call another ginger ginger
Just like only a ninja can sneak up on another ninja

Yeah only a ginger only a ginger only a ginger yeah
Are you listening up I'm not pointing the finga
I'm just having a sing up
I'm just reminding ya!

that only a ginger can call another ginger
Ginger

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis

Sleep paralysis is a phenomenon in which people, either when falling asleep or wakening, temporarily experience an inability to move

RISP episodes can last for up to an hour or longer, and have a much higher occurrence of perceived out of body experiences
