Do not buy e-tags: Cosatu

Reason being I always thought that Unions would be applicable for damages cause by them, mostly interfering with or opposing legislation. They got away every time since they did not instigate strikes, acted unlawfully or “knowingly caused” harm according to them and the people…

What I’m suggesting with the e-tolls is that they are encouraging people to not register / buy e-tags. No problem with this, since I’m also against e-tolls. But’s should the public be liable for not participating in e-tolls can Cosatu be liable for this, carry the weight of such burden?

And to what extend is optional, will this not become a requirement?

Cosatu is telling the public to do something that is legal - I don't follow your logic

Yes, I know.

Even though nobody is legally obliged to purchase e-tags “YET”, statements have been made of possible civil disobedience which will mainly be caused by Cosatu. Even though we are fighting e-tolls, this might become a legal requirement. Me mentioning this is only due to who will be held responsible should any damages occur, should society lose against this system.

the law is the law till it changes....
Cosatu is by no means the only organisation calling for the public not to get e-tags - DA, OUTA, AA and probably many others are suggesting the same
