I met with an accident today.

My dash cam footage shows that I am driving for atleast five seconds infront of the guy who rear ended me.

He claims he didn't see me and that I cut infront of him without indicating (read that carefully).

Things could have been a lot worse as I was knocked hard from the back (I didn't hear an attempt to brake- no tyres screeching) and I knocked the standing vehicle infront of me.

Gathering from what he told me and the dash cam footage I can only conclude he was not looking on the road and was using his phone.

I don't really care about the car or the costs, I care about principle, and the principle is that this guy's stupidity has put me in a difficult position. I had to wait in the hospital for three hours and now I have to get a lawyer etc, the costs are already incurred and the guy still tries to put the blame on me.

To be frank, I wish he drove faster and killed me on the spot. Then he would have to sit with the conscience for the rest of his life and I wouldn't have to run around having to deal with the repercussions of his stupidity.

Talk to your insurance - remember they're going to be footing the bill for this sht (your costs)...so if you can give them ammo to go after the other party in court they'll likely be happy to accept it. Hand over the video footage, point out that the opposition is lying through their teeth and that you think they should go after this.

k@.k story bru...a shtty accident situation is not worth wishing that you had been killed.

The other oke is a bastid and deserves to go down but ultimately you walked away from a bad situation & live to fight another day.

he just said he would love to see the footage, I've watched the footage over and over and I'm really trying hard to see how I'm at fault. I even showed some people whose views I respect and they can't also see how I'm at fault. Anyway I'm seeing a lawyer on Monday and I'll show him the footage too and hear what he says.

I'd leave that for the courts...I'd imagine the reaction is better when looking at a judge.

(Actually the insurance co will be in front of judge but still).

I'm only covered for third party insurance, comprehensive insurance is pointless on a car like this. The insurance will pay me out 20k, and take the car when I could sell the computer box for 20k.

He rear ended you, it's his fault contact his insurance and proceed from there. It doesn't matter his excuse he uses the cops will shrug and say rear ended why wasn't following distance blah
