Lovely place for my etoll accounts and Traffic Fines to go and die in peace. Use to visit them once a year to renew the Vehicle licenses, but now that can be done at PnP and Spar.

South African post office is not managing it's post office properly like paying some people for services of managing old offices that are closed that's mismanagement of public funds eg 1160 post office not in used but people are getting paid for that

Of course a country needs it's own postal service, independent of money hungry delivery channels. Do we need it in it's current form? Absolutely not!.

Only boomers would think they need the post office, the rest of us use electronic mail or a courier service.
Actually not. A well run postal service is considered a necessity worldwide and not having one is the reason we aren't part of the global economy. Those saying how couriers can replace the PO haven't shown that they've actually done so. Package rates have gone up from R25 to R100. Receiving international goods costs R300. That to me isn't couriers doing a good job but simply taking advantage of the situation we have where people will just accept anything else if they don't have to deal with the PO.

Is postal delivery in these times obsolete or is there a genuine need for it?
We do need SOE Post Office, it still does play an important role in delivering services such as Old age pension, and postal service to rural areas.

We do not need a post office, we most certanly do not need a national carrier and we do not need a government power producer, or distributor.
