Do you also hate the phrase "significant other"?

You are really carrying on over absolutely nothing.

I know quite a few gay people who refers to a 'life partner', yet very often the relationship does not last. It's a kind of an irony.

And it has ziltsch to do with the fact that very often straight people's relationships do not last either.

We have had equality and recognition of gay relationships in this country for years and years now. We really need to stop being so hyper-sensitive and move on to other more important things that remain much more of a challenge in SA.

i know 99% of people last when married

are you saying you not in the best of relationships ?

if your mum doesnt stand up for you regardless of age or gender or situation then i feel really sad for you

You need to peruse the divorce statistics. You may be surprised.

If I committed a crime, my mother would not pretend that I can do no wrong. It's called realism.

Why can't you just say husband/wife/boyfriend/girlfriend/partner/lover/whatever-else-they-may-be?

Are you and your partner so insecure in your relationship that you need to make each other feel significant by literally adding the word "significant" to your titles?

Although it's not nearly as bad as "my other half". But I'd rather not get started on that one.

Who uses the term lover though.

I think we should start using the term lover instead of SO. Is the forum suggestions thread still open?
