Building blocks for simple life seems to be everywhere and looking at our sample size of 1 (ie. Earth) we find simple life existing all over including in the harshest conditions.

So would be extremely likely to find microbes / fungi / etc common in the universe.

We also are only aware of carbon based life (ie. Us and everything else on planet earth) - who is to say there are elements out there we have not yet encountered, that could be the building blocks for a type of life we can't even conceive yet.

Space is big ... so incredibly big we as puny humans can barely comprehend the (observable) vastness of it all.

Would be rather egotistical to think in all that space we are the only ones.
