Do you frame your degree, diploma, certificate or the little gold star you got in creche and put it up for everyone to see?

I am curious about people's attitudes towards this.

Ours are either lost, or somewhere in a file, definitely not displayed.

What a fantastic question - because now, I am wondering where the hell mine are. I have no idea what I did with them. Scanned 'em for CV copies and put the certs and their frames in a box. Where that box is and what else is inside it, I have no idea. Could be any one of four places.

I don’t have an office to hang anything up on, but I say to those who can. Do it.

You should be proud of what you have achieved in life!

You can approach the institution that awarded it to you to re-issue it. They do it at a small fee.

I have my diploma framed and on the wall above my desk at home - so not many people see it but it makes me feel quite gangster

No, not a badge-in-need scout.

My degree is up in a frame along with a picture of me and the folks at my graduation.

Everything else is in a file with my other important documents (cell contracts, car registration papers etc.).

Don't forget about the solver Coca-Cola yo-yo you won in the spinning contest in about 1969 ...........

Of course I do, I proudly display my Grade-R certificate and my ICDL one in the office [/sarcasm off]

Ive got qualifications Ive been meaning to hang in my office... and actually a couple more I earned this year, but its not that I dont wanna hang them or not. Its Im pretty apathetic about going through the motions to get them framed and hung.

A coca-cola yoyo from 1969 is probably worth some decent cash now to a collector.

For the people who dont want to hang their qualifications. Do you actually have a decent qualification or is it a secretary course you passed or something?

Was waiting for someone to bring this up.

"My NQF level is higher than yours!" :p

I have decent qualifications :)

I just do not see the purpose. I know I obtained them, so why should they be on the wall? To remind me? Then I might as well frame my ID book to remind me who I am :)

I think if there were more innovative ways of displaying it, more people would be interested. It mostly framed in a very conservative and traditional way.

Well I havent hung any of mine, so dont know how relevant your comment is. Im just curious why someone would not be proud to display what they have achieved. My reason for not displaying mine is laziness at getting them framed and hung, Im wonder what other peoples issues are.

For some people it's not really important hey. I don't always understand it, but then again reputation makes up for that. My dad's got a whole box full of "this and that of the year" for professional memberships, that few people in the country have, nevermind his qualifications behind his name, but he's never kept it at work. The quality of his work and his reputation is proof enough of what he has.

For me a person looks like douche trying to compensate for something unless its industry standard. If I don't see a degree on my doctors wall then I'm going to stress, but if another developer tries to display his qualifications in the office, then I'm going to call him out for being a douchebag.

And yes, I have tertiary qualifications that I'm proud of but these are filed away.
