Do you drink wine ?

Can't stand the stuff, not even Champagne.
What a bunch of uneducated ...., if you do not drink wine then you just do not know better.

Uneducated my arse. Without beer, there'd be no wine, cause there'd be no civilisation (yes, seriously). You winos think you're above us beer drinkers, but our brew is older, more varied and a lot more pleasant to drink. You can keep your wine.

I enjoy wine as well. Have a glass a night. When I first moved to the UK, I did miss the wine. Been shopping around but completely overwhelmed by the choice wines you can buy in London.

I have found a UK website which was recommeded to me by a friend and now I buy 12 bottles every month/2 months. Had some really good wines from Chile, Australia. Not a fan of the California wines. Got some French wines last week which I will going through.

The odd Spanish and Italian wine is also good.

All is forgiven then.:D

I used to drink wine. I also used to drink Tequila mixed with Esprit, but a few bad experiences later, and I learn what's good for me (OK, so it only took one bad experience of tequila and esprit to put me off that mix). Haven't been able to drink wine for a few years now, but no matter how many times I get passed out drunk on beer (not so often these days), I never get tired of the taste.

Agreed, I've been pushing very hard for beer in this country (especially one with an area called winelands).

Microbreweries abound, so you don't have to drink that mass produced chemical beer (akin to Autumn Harvest Crackling).

We do indeed have a beer route in this country, something you all should try!

We don't think we are better than beer drinkers. It is just that beer doesn't appeal to most of us.

It is the same with some people that like sweet things where others can't stand it.

How do you do it in the winelands?

There's no reason to not have a designated driver or hire a tour bus with a driver, if there are a lot of you.

That's what I am saying. I once "toured" (during a business trip) the winelands and had to stop tasting after the third farm. Nobody told me not to empty the glass or that I have to spit out the "test" contents, also I do not like wasting. :D

Red wine most of the time even in summer when i chill a good shiraz.
Crisp sauv blanc in summer.

I will have it in the company of a lady and I would go out of my way to buy a bottle for her and I. Haven't had a wine I did not like yet be it red or white but I never try find the cheapest bottle either.

By myself though just a beer is all good. Wouldn't go out of my way for wine just for myself.

Also, note to all the beer drinkers with inferiority complexes the subject : "Do you drink wine" != "You are inferior if the drink beer."

I always keep a bottle of red wine in my home for whenever people come around. That and a few chops. Wine and braai go good together. Then again, braai and almost anything go good together.

Did a 21 year old wine with pizza.
