IMO

All main work PCs should have at least a 512 SSD

And if the unit can take a secondary drive then it must be a hybrid drive(mix between SSD and HDD, so kinda like an SSD with some mechanical parts, a little more than a Std HDD, but a lot cheaper than an SSD)

Errrr,

My laptop has a 512, desktop a 1TB,
What I refer to as my tech PC has a 512, with a 3tb SSHD for data, though the last is normally disconnected as I often intentionally infect the PC with virusses, malware etc...
It helps to learn what it does and how to fix it without just reloading machines to fix problems.

Other times I use it to replicate the stuff ups clients do. That way I can better understand how to fix the mess.

So the last is really like a learning toy I guess.
 
Yeah for years.

I suspect at least part of the reason is that mech HDDs just got fk'd too often from travelling to clients. The speed is obviously a nice advantage too.
 
Yes. 256GB M.2 SSD. But I use my own laptop. The office dont supply any hardware from after 1997.

I work for a ****ing ISP, and they don't supply decent laptops. So I went and bought my own ZBook.
