Android Wear: Zenwatch & Sony Smartwatch 3

Got 2; Sony Smartwatch 3 & the original Asus Zen Watch. Android wear was a replacement for my Sony Smart Band which died after serving me very well.

Aesthetically Asus beats the Sony hands down but functionally Sony is my preferred choice (Hence I swear by Xperia devices). Got both from Amazon for less than 5 grand last year September. Shipping could have pushed the price high but I pigee-backed off an ex's friend who was coming from the states to SA. That's where I got the idea for pigeeback.com (social courier service - Google it).

The Sony I can swim with, use it independently of the phone as it has WiFi. It also has a GPS module (not that I ever use it).

Happy with both devices, normally wear the Asus with formal / formal casual and the Sony for weekends. Battery is also much better on the Sony, can go for 2 days whereas the Asus has to be charged to finish the next day.

My pet hate on the Asus is the proprietary charger, if I run out of juice midday and I left the charger at home I'm out of luck. Asus likes to deviate from 'standard chargers', also have the same issue with my Chromebook (yes I love my Google powered devices). Sony with charges with any micro USB charger.

Much as I like the Asus if I had to have one of these I'd take the Sony.

For me a smart watch, is like the smart girl at school... She's a good friend and helps you with your homework, but you'd never date her...

No. Don't like anything on my wrist. Must've been tied up in a previous life

No smartwatch

In the next five years they will be useful, but charging every night is just ridiculous at present.

Why anyone still uses watches defeats me, but I like that you can take calls on a smart watch when you cant find your phone :P

I never wear a watch, but I bought a Gear 3 at half price. Well worth it and now I'm developing apps for it. Great fun

Apple Watch.
Have not worn a watch for years, but must admit, really loving this one. Handy as I can now keep my phone in my pocket and still get the important things.

Does a Casio calculator watch count?.....lol thats kinda retorhical

Nope i dnt think i will buy one as i always have my cellphone with me

I have a Suunto Ambit 3 that I use for exercise to measure distance, heart rate, calories etc.

When I am not exercising I wear my normal watch.

Apple watch. Didn't wear a watch before. Nice to have the vibrations for phone notifications on the wrist so there is no sound

I have a Xiaomi Mi Band 2 which notifies me of e-mails and incoming calls, since I have my phone on silent all the time.

Although this probably doesn't count as a smartwatch, but it also tells the time and the battery lasts around 25 days on a charge along with doing the usual step counting and heart rate monitoring
