Yes. Since 2008

Used to go to the office maybe once every 3 months when I was an independent contractor. Since I've started making them pay for travel, I haven't been to the office in many many years. Suddenly when it costs them R10k or more per trip, a skype call will do.

Hybrid. 2 days at the office. Execs wanted 3, we rejected that and it’s not policed.
Kind of silly though, spend 2 hours a day to sit in an office where I’m either blocking the noise with headphones or on calls with people that are not in the office. Site visits are useful though.

A client asked me to drive 90kms a trip, just to sit in a 1hr meeting, where I was not even contributing, just listening. When they realised it was going to cost them not just the my hourly rate but the km's claim they started doing teams meeting again.

Hybrid - I would like to be more remote. My colleagues would like to only be in office  but hybrid for now.

Also since we often work weekends or evenings from home, it wouldn't make a difference if it was decided to be 100% remote or not.

Every single person I know, most in banking and telecommunications and insurance, with the exception of 1, who works in admin for a mining company, is back at the office.
“Every single person I know …” so that’s about 3 max which includes family.

My company has been absorbed by one of the largest tech distributors in the country who WFH on Mondays and Fridays. We have been told that once they are satisfied that they can trust us, we will be given the same flexibility. Can't wait. That will save me 560km of travel per month, which amounts to ~R800 worth of petrol, and it will also save me 3+ hours worth of travel time every week. Tangible, positive impact on finances and QOL.

Yes, but I'm in the office today, cause I had to go to the mall during lunch :D

Edit: generally I come into the office once a week so that I don't lose my desk (has the best view) - not because it's mandated.

Back in office since 2020. I wish we were WFH as then the office would be empty and peaceful.
