The entire one piece series is available on crunchyroll. Literally on the front page of the most popular often as a new episode is released.

I swear it wasn't there when I looked for it. Damn Playstation app.

Lore Olympus FTW
They should turn it into a show

Busy with unOrdinary now.
Found WEBTOONs shortly before God of Highschool anime was released.

Keeps me busy while I try relax. I’ll look at Lore Olympus, thanks!

Still number 1 for me on ps4. One thing to note is that you should enable mature content through your crunchyroll settings on a browser as for some reason that us disabled by default so some shows might not show up on ps4 until enabled

Just finished demon slayer and the promised neverland on the shonen app. Still wish their scans weren't so bad when zooming in. Comixology has the best quality period but you have to pay for each volume rather than a subscription.

Pretty hyped for re: zero season 2 on crunchyroll. Only 2 weeks away!

There's an obscene amount of gay stuff though.
I would prefer stories with a start and an end, this 200+ episode stuff is not for me.
Also Tower of God is anime now as well, so I'm not reading it...yet

I try support legal channels as much as possible, so pay for a Crunchyroll membership, and also have Netflix. However, it's a real battle to find many shows to stream due to licensing restrictions or even buy it on Blu-ray.

Licensing of anime has certainly gotten better in SA from what I can tell, and unless locals do pay for anime through legitimate streaming platforms like Crunchyroll we're not going to see an improvement. However, we do pay a premium since a lot of shows aren't available. I'd like to see a reduced fee on Crunchyroll for our region considering the limited titles, and also hope places like Funimation open up to our region.

I wonder if our licensing woes are due to no one willing to license for our region, or perhaps more likely, it's some random company that has no services in SA that has bought up the rights in some bulk deal, so it's just being wasted.

Lol I haven’t seen the guys stuff.
Some stuff does end like Hive but ToG is a money maker so doubt it’ll end for another year or two.

Read the manga, it’ll be season 4 before they catch up to the manga in the anime

I think it's just a case of many companies not seeing a market here as there is no one licencing anime specifically for South Africa, not even multichoice. I think since the crunchyroll and funimation partnership ended crunchyroll has made it mandatory for all new simulcasts to be released in Africa. New season lineup is available to view on crunchyroll website and so far all simulcasts are coming to South Africa. Netflix actually does have a few anime specifically for South Africa from what I've seen and Charlotte is one anime that comes to mind.

Either the community is too small or many people are not choosing the legal route for what is available legally. Most countries even get theatre releases for both sub and sub movies, even India but SA has never received a theatrical release.

i havent watched any good anime from 2020, hopefullly all the good ones will be coming next month RE: ZERO.
my 2 cents netflix make really bad anime, they need to go to proper anime production companies to make anime for them.

sorry i dont think cgi is anime, if i want to watch cgi ill go watch transformer beast wars, dont know how people watch carp like baki and kengan , watched the first episode of dorohedoro and was put off with cgi, you dont know how angry i was when they made season 2 of berserk cgi, i cried myself to sleep every night. it hurt my soul that they would do that to my most beloved anime series. what makes berserk even worse is the shitty music score, i feel like ever 2 mins there is a different score playing the background, there was a lot less ambient noise.

I wouldn't even touch the Berserk anime. Just saw how horrible it looks from anime reviewers on YT. The manga artwork is so intricate and well drawn that I don't think even 2D animation can replicate it.

Watch the 1997 animated series.
I couldn't stand the later cg Berserk stuff either but that original series is good.

Edit:

Love the original. Taught me one must be their own king and only you can look out for yourself.
Griffith had the hearts of all his men but was ready to sacrifice them all.

Intro song has stuck with me all these years
