If Gauteng comprised a mature, responsible and obedient society then yes, but it does not, so any form of lockdown is futile as it is not being adhered to. It will serve no purpose other than to further cripple the economy...

Make mask wearing mandatory. Encourage hand washing and social distancing. Very little else one can do...

You do see the problem, right?

I do not think Lockdown measures should be made stricter.

We already know it won't make a difference because lockdown measures only matter if they are followed. We already saw how they were ignored in large, densely populated areas of Gauteng with people milling about, socialising, drinking in public etc. Laws only affect the law-abiding and we know they've been ignored, so making them stricter again, specifically now, months of lockdown later, when finances are at a breaking point for your low-income earners, will be financial suicide and ineffective.

I do yeah but which do you think is easier to enforce and/or comply with? Being confined to a shack for 2 months? Or wearing a face mask in public for 2 months?
Agreed. Lockdown in our current environment was retarded. Stubborn people coupled with stupidity.
At the very least make wearing a mask and having a small bottle of sanitizer mandatory at all times.

No.

If you're scared or know to be at risk of suffering/dying from COVID-19, stay home.

Let the rest of us carry on as we are.
But then it's like the kids. They get it from school and bring it home? Same goes for workers. There's no win.

People are responsible for their own health. If they are scared that their kids might spread it, keep them at home.

This continuous pretending that the majority are at risk of suffering and dying of CODIV-19 is nonsense and there's enough data at this stage to support that.

Lock down rules cant be adhered by the majority of people who live in the most densely populated areas as it would be inhuman! So whats the point of making them stricter?

To get you to OBEY!

Do you think Gauteng should get stricter lockdown rules with the rapid rise of cases?

I think there should be stricter enforcement of guidelines. We need the economy to continue to open but the public need to adhere to social distancing and masks and stop acting like were at level 1 where you can spend time with friends and family and disregard social distancing . It will be inevitable that restrictions are tightened if numbers continue to rise so steeply

The sale of alcohol – including the hours when it may be sold;
The return of more school students, with an estimated 1 million expected to return as of 6 July;
The reopening of churches and other specific sectors.
Reducing the hours or even banning booze again won't help. After being caught off guard the first time people have stocked up and that includes taverns and shebeens.

Schools - they've already reduced the number of grades returning on Monday.

Churches/Mosques/Synagogues/etc - close them. God is supposedly everywhere anyway. Everything that creates revenue and employment needs to stay open. People need to work because people need to eat. The government couldn't even organise a R350pm payment.

Tl;Dr - you had nearly 100 days that the entire nation paid for - you should have done more with it.

I was going to say something like this, but then you can't generalize too much nowadays lest cerebus puts you on his covert racist list..

Other rules yes - But that counts for everyone

I hate that everyone is using shopping as the new social

Not selling cigs is stupid, even though I am not a smoker. It is just turning my smoking friends into druggies that have to deal with criminals.

Why can't I visit my friends but people can hangout in the streets with complete strangers?

P.S. The smoking things has made me rethink how we should handle the drug epidemic.
