at some point EVERYONE will get infected. its not about reducing infections, but reducing the impact to the hospitals. Rather a steady stream than a tidal wave...

even if lockdown was for 100years... it will pass on as an infection to someone at some time.... due to the amount of globally travel etc... you could close it down in 1 country, then 1 person goes abroad.. BANG! its re-introduced to the country again....

Well, this virus is killing people right? & this world of ours is over-populated correct?

So... This virus killing people is a good thing then right?
 
Maybe another week, anything more and people are going to lose it.
 
I don't mind the lockdown. I'm loving it actually, mainly because my PC is my life. I spend most of my life in front of it. So sad.

The thing that gets me is the financial part of it. Savings can only last for so long.
 
Yes. All these articles coming out hint at that. They'll just soften the blow so it doesn't come as too much of a shock.
 
I don't pretend to understand the numbers (especially the R-zero thing, that's for me to get my head around tomorrow), but it is hard to believe that our Govt will do anything different. The nearer we are to June/July, the more skittish CR will become.

And, as the esteemed @bwana said, there may still be some part of the economy that remains to be destroyed.

Quite an ignorant comment, considering doing what you say means a death sentence for a great many.
 
It's essentially a test for government now, to see if they can get everything they need in place to cope with the eventual spread.
