WFH so on the odd occasion that I head to the office ... everyone is in calls all the time because their teams are WFH ... meaning headphones are a must

when home, noisy dog, wife and kid running around, so again headphones are a must

nothing fancy, but true wireless has become non-negotiable, destroyed too many wired sets getting up from my desk to make coffee, take a leak, let the dog out etc during a meeting

Back in the dark ages, when I was in an office every day I wore my noise cancelling headphones a lot, although I rarely played any music through them. They were just to block out as much of the bazaar around me as possible.

Before I had noise cancelling headphones I had to play music because that was at least less distracting than the zoo.

How are you suppose to talk to people if you have headphones on

Because we're in a production factory, we have a safety rule that we are not allowed to make use of headphones while working. The reasoning behind that is that you should at all times be able to hear any site emergency warnings that is given over the PA systems throughout the factory.

I find headphones uncomfortable. Bought a pair of BOSE noise-cancelling headphones for use in a plane. These worked amazingly well though and it was only a 10 hour trip

I got those as well, great headphones. But its time to hand them down to the kids and get the new 1000XM5's as my 1000XM3's starting to show their age.

Where I work, headphones will earn you a written warning but ear muffs are mandatory.
